Great topic but i am sorta confused..pride in what? Their work? If so...

To me, having pride is not a problem as long as you are THANKFUL of what you have achieved. You have to have some kind of humbleness. I mean, if you have worked so hard to get somewhere and when you have actually reached it then hey!...no harm in flaunting it! Being proud and humble is possible.

So in that sense, i could care less of these "stars" having pride or too much pride. Pride is only a problem when they go over-board and think they are the shizz and no one is better than them and beat them. Lol. Then, pride is a problem.

It's one thing to have pride - pride in yourself or your work - and to know it and enjoy it.
But it is completely different to display it for others to see constantly on purpose, and reminding them of these things you are proud of. There is only so much that others are interested in hearing. Go over that line of interest and they may get fed up with you. Which we all are of some of these "stars".

So yeah...simple as that!(:

P.S. Sorry! Its so long! You had me thinking. 😆 Good topic...again!:P

I am simply talking about the pride in their work, career, and putting down other stars! Like the fact is that Sonam takes pride in mentioning she got offers to star with Ranbir and turned them down! The fact is that a lot of actresses would die to work with Ranbir! So, this is an example of what I was referring to! Glad you like the topic! 😊

There's nothing wrong in having pride & confidence in yourself if you don't then nobody else will it's a must, it's a dog eat dog world out there. If you're talking about arrogance related pride then that's a bit different, i'm sure 90% of the actors in Bolly are up their own arses some show it openly others are subtle about it,

There is no such thing as "too much pride". Pride is a positive quality and it amounts to self-respect and delight and passion in one's work.

What you are trying to drive at is arrogance - which is another form of narcissism.

Arrogant actors: I think it started with Suraiya(wasn't she the singer?), Hema Malini, Aish, Kareena and now Sonam. Male: Raaj Kumar, Later stages of Dilip Kumar, mid stages of Amith B., Dev Anand, Salman Khan, Gulshan Grover and SRK.

These actors tend to be usually bad actors and tend to ham. They get above themselves and in their movies you see "X" the star rather than the character they should be playing.

Actors who take pride in their work: Aamir khan, Asha Parekh, Shammi Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha, Vyjayanti Mala, Shabana Azmi, Rani, Kajol...

These actors are generally good at acting and take pride in their craft.

Humble actors: Early day and much later day Amith B., early Dilip kumar, Balraj Sahani, Sridevi, Waheeda Rehman etc.

These actors are usually very good actors and constantly keep learning...they don't believe they are perfect.

Pride or humility - both work. Arrogance does not!

If you had to pick just one Bollywood movie as your all-time favorite, which one would it be? And what makes it so special for you?
