Oh KJO!!! you have disappointed me BIG TIME!! WHat nonsense is he talking about? he really has changed, or maybe showing his true character now? Marriage is the most respected relation. Yes not everyone chooses the right partner and yes many spouse just cheat and don't care about their family but that doesn't mean he should tell his fan followers negativity about marriage. Since his father passed by, his thinking ability has stopped working. BOO Kjo BOO

I really adore the guy. Love Karan. But reading this has made me think of him a little less now. Thumbs down.

Karan is not alone...a LOT of more 'modern', liberal thinking people consider marriage as obsolete...actually, married people have officially become the minority in the United States and a lot of them consider marriage to simply be an "institution"...a stark difference as to how our Indian families consider marriage to be. But don't forget that Bollywood is full of broken relationships that Karan has surely witnessed throughout his life...he isn't seeing the marriage fantasy but rather the sad reality of what marriage has been reduced to within the industry

That's fine with me, whatever flows his or her boat when it comes to marriage/domestic partnerships but I'm more traditional in that sense in that I know I'll be getting married in my future😆...But what I despise is this idea that "marriage is hard work" when in reality, any long-term serious relationship between two people, whether it's a marriage, partnership, or co-habitation requires hard work to succeed...a legal document doesn't change that but rather just makes it harder for a married couple to divorce (hint: get a prenup😉)

That was my two cents on this subject😆

Marriages and Bollywood (or stardom for that matter) don't really go hand in hand. Unless the hubby is filthy rich or the wife has connections. Or if you're Jaya and Amitabh. Then you just put up with it.

Why just in Bollywood, I see marriage as an institution crumbling in the middle class and the upper middle class too...

Of course not all 100 % of the marriages are in the dumps but yes a good number compared to before... Each time I visit Mumbai I can see it on a raise at my workplace... with my friends... acquaintances or I hear abt so and so in an open marriage or so and so has an extra marital affair with a collegue... Even in a city like Bangalore while growing up divorces, extramarital affairs etc were a rarity and they were met with contempt and shock by people around them... But now I can see the changing perception in people around too... Its all become a matter of fact now and more chalta hai attitude is seen from people and I dont see the amount of shock when they hear abt so and so's scandal...
Regarding Kjo and his Dinosaur and Jurassic Park funda... Oh well...I dont agree with that statement of his but I do understand where he is coming from and why he has that perception.. Every other day Masand comes out with his gossip...tabloids with their news items...others with their blind gossip... There's no smoke without fire... Bollywood is pretty messed up... He is seeing things from very very close quarters so I am sure he has a different perception...
Had a sense of deja vu reading some of Kjo's statements... For example the ones I mentioned below, Looks like he is referring to the ones we have discussed and dissected here so many times after hearing abt them from other gossip sources or from Masand... 😆
1. Chances are that in this seemingly blissful monogamous existence you've people of alternate sexual orientations trapped in conventional arrangements
2. These are all cases of accidental monogamy where the entire marital set-up is farcical
3. But women aren't lagging either. If a woman finds that her husband is unable to meet her expectations in areas concerning intimacy ' emotional, sexual or psychological ' rather than go on a spree of chest-beating or blaming destiny, she opts for a simpler, nostrings-attached alternative ' a part-time lover of sorts."

"In my reckoning, in95 per cent of the marriages there's some degree of mental, emotion or sexual infidelity."

While he might have some points that are worth thinking about, I fail to see where he pulled 95% from. I hate when people make comments are that not only unfathomable but also stupid.
