When Disha Rawal's father did not give her permission to go for a party on New Year's Eve, which the 17-year-old desperately wanted to attend, she faked her own kidnapping to get her way.

Disha not only attended the party but also stayed on at her friend's place for two days and then made her friend call her father to say that she had been kidnapped.

The true story finally came to light around 6 am today, when the girl confessed to the police.

Cut herself with blade

To make her story more convincing Disha injured herself with a blade and then went to the police around 9 pm last night saying that she had escaped from her kidnappers. Police then took her to Bhagwati Hospital.

She had deep blade marks on her abdomen, when she was brought to the hospital, said a doctor at the hospital. When her father Jawahar saw Disha in hospital, he said that she couldn't speak as she was in deep shock.

Blame cable guys

Jawahar first suspected that this was the doing of local cable boys. "A few local cable operators always used to call and trouble her. There were some disputes in the past and they did this to my daughter to take revenge," Jawahar told Mid Day, before the dramatic turnaround of events.

Breaks down before cops

While giving her statement to the police, the girl broke down and admitted the truth, said sub-inspector D B Pable of Kashimira police station.
Jawahar refused to take calls when Mid Day tried to contact him after Disha's confession.
