There was a time in the 90s when I thought she was great actually, such as in Taal and the early 2000s Kuch Naa Kaho but now when she does a commercial role, you can tell that she's uncomfortable with what she has to do. My opinion is that she's done too many period films and wasn't able to bounce back to commercialism. Now, I also think her family also hinders her professionally too. How can you be free to act when there are limitations placed on you, such as no kissing an actor and no dressing this way etc?

Dhoom 2 is a big one and I'm not gong to mention her famous quote from it😉 but throughout the whole movie she looked stiff and was doing these strange scrunched facial expressions...it was blatantly obvious when compared to the bomb siren Bipasha.

I heard she's trying to do commercial films now but I frankly don't think she has the acting chops to do so

Okay, are you posting this topic to test Aishu fans such as myself?! Well, I am up for the challenge! 😃 Well, yes, I do strongly ADMIT that Aish cannot do commercial cinema because it has NEVER been her forte! She excels in period and dramatic roles like HDDCS, Devdas, Taal, Guru, Jodhaa Akbar, Raincoat, Guzaarish, Provoked, etc. I don't think I ever read one bad review about her acting in the films I mentioned. Maybe one bad review here and there, but for the most part, the critics loved her in these films! At least Aish tried to experiment and do commercial films. She is trying again with RKS's Ladies and Gentleman, hopefully that will silence anyone who dares to question her commercial cinema skills! 👏

Well... Just like Katrina and Vidya, Ash too has her limitations as an actress...

Just like these two she should stick to what she does best and that is the period cinemas and the roles which require a restrained performance...

And coming to the TM's question... Will she succeed at commercial acting ... I dont think so... She has been around for 14 years and she has been unsuccessful... so I really doubt if its gonna happen now...

I rather stick to watching Katrina, PC , Kareena etc do the commercial films...

what the hell is "commercial acting" Some made up topic for haters ,I see.
So Action Replayy some hater wants to bring up. The film may have flopped but she was the best part of the movie. And no one could have done for Robot what she did.
Raavan and Guzaarish. I'll take those movies over Anjaani's or some other YRF shit.

People like to point out Ash's recent flops but they forget all the flops everyone else has.
And people like to question Ash's acting. She's got enough body of work to prove herself. Her filmography can match up and surpass any of the actresses.
