Star Obsession - Doing Prayers Even, To Extreme?

😆 Ok, this topic will be a eye-opener. It is fine to be a fan of your favorite star. But, I have read stories of people doing prayers or even dedicating a temple to their favorite stars, like Amitabh, SRK, Hritik, etc. Isn't that a bit to extreme and taking it far? Some people are not even in the right "frame" of mind, if you know what I mean. 😭
So, is doing prayers or doing some other types of rituals to extreme? Share your thoughts on this! 😛

Terribly ridiculous.

I find it very hard to understand a state of mind that loves/obsesses over a celebrity so much to build a temple for him/her.
Although, I don't find putting in a prayer for a celebrity to be wrong. It is okay to pray for the well-being of anyone you care about.

According to indiainfo.com, I have included the following about extreme prayers on Amitabh Bachchan:
"indiainfo.com, described a ceremony in which started the traditional hindu way of worship at 8:30 a.m. first worshiping lord ganesh (the elephant god), then lord narayan and finally god amitabh bachchan. the ceremony was conducted by six qualified priests chanting hymns from scriptures in front of a huge garlanded framed photograph of young bachchan, at the amitabh bachchan fans association (abfa) club in the dumdum neighborhood, added to bachchan photograph , photographs of hindu gods ganesh & narayan, part of the pantheon as well. a sculptor even built a bust plaster of bachchan for the ceremony.

a diehard bachchan fan formulated the following question: "a person who has touched so many lives, can he be any less than a god?"

the day maked the beginning of amitabh utsav, a festival that lasted four months, in which, among other things, the abfa organized philanthropic activities in honor of bachchan, treated 1,000 patients at four microsurgery eye camps & undertook a campaign of eyes donation, the festival ended by feeding the poor people from the area in a community feast sponsored by the club.

a temple for amitabh bachchan in the dumdum area where an idol of the cine star has been installed. the "rules" for entering the temple are unique. a devotee wishing to pray before bachchan's idol would first have to recite dialogues from some of his famous films. also instead of religious hymns, bachchan's dialogues from his films would be chanted during prayer sessions."
To much! 😳

The only star who ive heard who has had a temple(s) built in their name is Amitabh Bachchan.

The first time i was on holiday in Mumbai, my driver/guide was very keen to tell me that i could do 'darshan' of the Big B at 6pm - apparently (well he did then) everyday at 6pm he would make an appearance on the front balcony of his house and give 'darshan' to all 😕

I even think some of these stars think the fans are way to extreme for doing this! Perhaps people are doing it for attention. Some could be obsessive, while some could be doing it for personal gain perhaps! 😕

Very extreme!!! I would never do that, I love some celebs but there are more to life than worshipping celebs. Seen it in Bollywood too much and even happens in the other side of the world.
