Ajay Devgn: COLORS' next choice to host Fear Factor?

The buzz is that Ajay Devgn has been approached to host the next season of COLORS' very popular show..

The planning for Season 4 of Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi is already on, and the news is that COLORS and Endemol are on the lookout for yet another dynamic host!!

After the not-so-great debut coming from Priyanka Chopra last year, the channel we hear was eyeing on getting back the original Khiladi, Akshay Kumar on board.. However, Akshay Kumar's commitments to hosting the next season of Star Plus' popular show Master Chef India has prompted COLORS to look for a brand new host..

Apparently the news making rounds is that Ajay Devgn has been offered to host the next season of Fear Factor, and talks are presently on with him.

Our source states, "Fear Factor did not rake in great TRPs last year for two reasons. Firstly, Priyanka did not come across as a great host, and the fact that the show did not have the glamour and thrill quotient of girls as contestants did not apparently go well with the audience".

We hear that Ajay Devgn is the hot favorite to host the new season of Fear Factor. The popular show is expected to launch in September. And if all goes well, this season's Fear Factor might yet again see the adventurous ladies coming into the limelight.

When contacted, Deepak Dhar, Country Head, Endemol told us, "You have to wait for the announcement of next season's Fear Factor".

Let's see whether Ajay Devgn will be the next big Bollywood celebrity to make it big on television..

Akshay may be back on Khatron Ke Khiladi

Akshay Kumar has apparently been talks with Colors channel for the show Khatron Ke Khiladi. The actor hosted the first two seasons of the show, which was shot in South Africa. However after that he decided to walk out of the show for undisclosed reasons. Following that Priyanka Chopra took over the responsibility to host the third season, which was much bigger in scale.

But now the channel is back in talks with Akshay to host the fourth season. "The third season did take a good enough opening but the TRPs diminished dramatically as the show progressed. While the reason was partially the participants, people also expected Priyank Chopra to deliver more. When Akshay was on the show he used to perform most of the stunts and that excited the audience. So Colors wants him back now," says a source.

This puts Akshay in the driver's seat as he will be in a position to command more money than what he was paid for the earlier episodes. He was reportedly paid approx Rs 150 crore for KKK season 2.

Interestingly Akshay's presence in Master Chef did help the show to get some TRPs for Star Plus, more than a similar show called Kitchen King on Zee TV. However the show's performance was nothing more than mediocre with an average TRP of around 2.

The source from the channel is however confident that Akshay will do better with KKK. "Khatron Ke Khiladi goes well with Akshay's image of being an action star. Plus a cookery show meant it was never supposed to be watched by the overall audience," concludes the source

There has also been some buzz that Ajay Devgn was in consideration for the show. But with his choc-o-block calendar the actor looks like he hardly has any time to sign any new project.
