Maheep and Sanjay Kapoor |
In two months, Sanjay Kapoor, biwi Maheep and their two sons will shift to their new home on the sixth of Hiralaya Apartments.
Till now, Sanjay was living in his father, Surendra Kapoor's Lokhandwala bungalow, sharing it with his parents, Mona Kapoor (Sanjay's elder brother Boney's estranged wife) and her two children.
A reluctant Sanjay revealed, "It's a 4,200 sq feet flat on 10th road, in Juhu. The interiors are done by Ninaid Pardesi, and we should be shifting out in the next couple of months."
Sister-in-law Mona tells us that after 22 of years of knowing Sanjay, she will get "withdrawal symptoms" when he shifts. "I have known Sanjay for over two decades — ever since I married Boney. To me, he is like an older brother today; the brother I never had. Maheep is a very nice girl. I have known her for eight years, much before Sanjay married her."
So the ghar will be soona-soona, with the foursome moving into a new home?
"Yes. They have been part of my family for so long, I will miss their presence. My children (19-year-old Arjun and 14-year-old Anshul) too will miss their kids (five-year-old Shanaya and seven-month-old Jahan); as all four were very attached to each other."
Their own space
Has she been to their new flat? "No, I haven't been there, but Boney had told me about it some months ago."
Mona is happy for Sanjay and Maheep for having a home of their own. "It's every woman's dream to make a home for herself and her children. Maheep is a very good homemaker, very artistic by nature, so she will decorate the place nicely.
She will make a beautiful home. I am very happy for the two of them. Living in a bungalow and sharing it with three families must have cramped their space, especially now that the children are growing up.
Also, they are young and might want to party and have late nights. The music and noise might disturb the parents. If you want to, you can entertain with privacy in your own home."
Mona says the senior Kapoors will miss Sanjay 's family. "My in-laws will miss them a lot. They are very fond of Maheep and the children. I hope they can cope emotionally with the separation…"
Mona's keeping herself occupied, away from the painful separation. She is in the process of putting the finishing touches to her new studio, Future Studio 2. "It is a state-of-the-art building, with mosaic tiles all around, equipped with all possible amenities and six shooting sets. It should be complete in the next couple of weeks."
