Yes, it happens sometimes, it has happened with both of TIPS' previous movies where they employed this tactic, but HOW does it work? 😕 Why does this make a difference to people? Is it because they want to decide whether these two would work in real life or what? I just can't understand it. 😕

I don't think JWM worked because of the break-up. The opening wasn't very good and it didn't earn much money over the weekend. It was only good word-of-mouth and some good reviews that helped the film work. It did better as the weeks went on instead of getting people to the theatres on Day 1.

I also don't understand how rumours about affairs make people watch it. Maybe its a ploy to play up the leads' chemistry ... I don't know. I didn't see KiKo or Race in the theatre.

More seriously, it's like a bet. Remember in Kaminey, Charlie bets on the bad horses because the 3 bengali brothers and himself usually cheat and make the good ones sick during the race....so that the bad ones get somehow a chance to win the race...In that way they can gain more money than ever....

It's the same for some PR's of stars, when their clients promote a movie (they don't know if the audience will go to see the movies so they bet), they send some "people" who were working on the set to some contacts they have in the media and they have a lot...😆😆😆 And people spread some rumors (true or false it's not very important), it may be anonymous people that send those "news" to the medias...

The medias believe whenever the lead pair seems to get along together or shows some off screen closeness and comfort...

But sometimes some insiders witness intimate scenes that happen to be seen by chance and they report it to casual people and the path is opened to all rumors or fabricated truth👏

As I have just said it's a bet made by the medias combined to the PR....sometimes it does work and sometimes it doesn't ..And yes I agree sometimes fans and the audience make a movie works because they want to do well....

But only an accurate study may prove that rumors, gossips or made up stories don't influence people's choice because a lot of people went to see "kaminey" because the media highly hyped it and because of the reviews and because the Shahid Priyanka story has begun...

What about the kiss of Aish-Duggu in D2? People went also to see it on screen...no one would make me believe that they went to see it because the storyline seemed good....

If this rumour is false i hope so 4 all u birika fans the only bakaras r fans.How can they take fans fr granted???? What right do they have.It is on the shoulders of the stars 2 b strict about it.If they want successful film sign proper ones,ct well and promote in a constructive way.Dont fool fans.

How can u trust them even if it is false tell me.can u believe them next time?

They are kinda forced to play that game when their PR say it's good for the movies and when they're unexperienced and if it's the only way for them to promote it...

SRK, Aamir, AB senior don't need those kind of publicity stunts because they are the stunts...but for newcomers or not so well established actors they have to adopt some strategies to promote their movies..Of Course it's not the only way, there are the "contests", the "meet&greet", the press conference, the trailer, the promos, the official poster, the website.....
