Shahid is not nervous |

Any other actor in his place would be feeling anxious, tense and nervous, but Shahid Kapoor is made of sterner stuff. The next few weeks are crucial for the teen sensation since as many as three Shahid starrers are due for release before the year comes to a close. There's DEEWANE HUYE PAAGAL on November 25, followed by SHIKHAR on December 16 and VAAH! LIFE HO TOH AISI on December 23. Three releases in exactly one month! "The point is, none of them are solo hero films," Shahid tells me, "I have Akshay Kumar for company in the first film, Ajay Devgan in the second and Sanjay Dutt in the third. So, the focus won't be entirely on me." He continues in the same breath, "Most importantly, the three films are different from one another. Had they been similar in content, I agree, it would've given me sleepless nights. While DEEWANE HUYE PAAGAL is a laughathon, SHIKHAR is an intense drama and VAAH! LIFE HO TOH AISI is a kiddie film, with never-seen-before special effects. I don't think they would cut into each other's business." Shahid agrees that an actor has no say when it comes to the release strategy. "I haven't had a release for almost a year now [his last release, DIL MAANGE MORE, was released on December 31, 2004]. There is a considerable gap between my previous and new releases. Also, let's not forget that finalizing the release date is the producer's prerogative. An actor has no say in that," he adds. There's MILENGE MILENGE as well. "Yes, the entire shooting is complete. Only one song remains to be filmed," he adds. Meanwhile, a section of the media has highlighted the differences between the Tauranis of Tips [the makers of ISHQ VISHK and FIDA] and Shahid. "We are trying to re-work on the contract. We haven't come across a script that would excite both of us. But things should be sorted out soon," he says, while boarding a flight to Chennai. |
