Soha On A Look Out For Success By MIO Team Oct 26, 2005, 07:10 |
She made her debut with 'Iti Srikanto' where she played Kamallata. Now, her second Bengali film titled 'Antarmahal' is ready to hit the theatres. Rituparno Ghosh is the director of the film and AB Corp. produces it. The film is based on Tarashankar Bandopadhyay's film 'Protima'. It has actors like Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff and Roopa Ganguly. Soha plays Jasomati, the second of the zamindar played by Jackie Shroff. Soha revealed that her earlier sting in Bengali films do helped her but she said that the character she played in this film is a unique one. She said that Kamallata had a strong character while Jasomati is innocent and quite with a broken existence. She also said that she sat with Rituda in order to work on her mannerism and body language. It won't be easy to do a quite and innocent role that is very much unlike her independent life in Mumbai. She revealed that the role is challenging, as she had to be always polite and decent. But she said that her mother Sharmila Tagore, who had worked with Ghosh did not give her any tips about the director's style of work. The young actress said that she had a great time working with Abhishek Bachchan. She revealed that she was nervous at first, as he is a big star. She also said that Jackie did his role very well. Both her characters Kamallata and Jasomati are close to her heart. She hopes that 'Antarmahal' would do well. She said that the film has a social message in it and that everyone should watch it. She is happy at the pace her career is shaping up. She is very much concerned on the expectations of the people, and so she is working hard to do well. 'Antarmahal' could raise the young actress' career graph or pull her to the dark pit. Soha surely has the talent to make it big in filmdom. Way to go Soha! |
