Esha Deol clears the air about her self-imposed exile

Responding to our repeated calls and text messages, Esha said, "I am absolutely fine. It's just that I am keeping a low profile. I have been living in Goregaon with my mom and sister. Mom is busy with her election campaign, so I am helping her to do up our Juhu residence." Why did she maintain a low profile? "That is a deliberate decision. I am in Bollywood only for my passion for acting. I don't want to sign six films and regret them later. To tell you the truth, I am still in touch with my friends from Bollywood, like Fardeen Khan and Zayed Khan. I am not seen in social gatherings and award functions as I have outgrown parties. Bahut party-sharty kar liya, it's time to change. Everybody needs to grow up at some point in his/her life and I have grown up too," she added. Esha has signed only one film, Exchange Offer directed by Shivam Nair, last year and wants to work with new directors and do rebellious films like Dev.D and Manorma Six Feet Under. She elaborated, "The genres I have worked on don't interest me anymore. Now, I am on a different trip. I am no longer bothered about how much money I make. Why do I need more money than I have? I have a roof over my head. Moreover, I am not a materialistic person. I don't need designer gowns and fashionable bags. I am perpetually in my black tee and blue jeans." There is no dent in Esha's Bollywood aspirations as she is still religious about her workouts with her personal trainer and her dance guru. "I can't do without a two-hour extensive workout everyday, and that is not because I want to be a size zero or a perfect 10. As for dancing, it is my first love," added Esha. |
