Is Amar really smart ?

Although Amar has been saying that he came to play the game, I am not sure he is really smart or others or dumb ? He got caught so many times by Sky, Sid and even Shonali once. A good player will never get caught and builds trust even if he is cheating. But nobody in the house believes Amar at any point of time. I don't understand why everybody is going gaga over Amar's game when actually almost every move of him other than last week nomination has backfired.
