Headlines Today News said in their broadcast last evening that Jade Goody and Colors were on the same page about her health condition even before the show started. They still wanted her to come to Mumbai and go throught the hoopla of the opening ceremony and stay for a couple of days.

The rational being that the hype would be enough to jump start the show with a bang. So it is quite likely that she was paid some portion of the money promised. Colors is a new channel and owned by Viacom so money is not a big issue, publicity is. Moreover the first few days cost per ad seconds was pretty high on Colors and the channel must have recovered a good portion of the monies spent on Jade. I also think Jade will return towards the end of the show to earn the rest of her agreed amount.
