It depends on the situation. In both of these cases, I found the sorrys genuine. The true test is if the person ever does the same behavior again. A true sorry is if the person LEARNS from it.

That being said, I really don't see the big deal with what Andy did. Maybe because I grew up in the USA, as a girl, it isn't a big deal if a friend asks me what size bra I wear. since Andy grew up in UK, maybe this is more cultural, as he didn't see what the big deal was either.

I don't think he meant anything vindictive by it. He just took the task too far.
