thats cos he is well aware that an argument of that sort between two ladies will definitely be telecast. so he had to hog the limelight in any which way he thought fit at that moment. hence the jig.

have you noticed how he threw his rajesh khanna looks at sonali last night when she was put in the spot by salman/dimpy? thats cos the cameras zoom and focus on his face and gg knows this and promptly milks the opportunity. by now, he has become so adept at it that he does it subconsciously. it will take a while for the poor lad to shake this habit off once he's outside the house.
