As a true friend we should help our friends to fight against their bad habits & addiction. But in a sympathetic way, and not exposing them in front of others. And not calling their parents name in the sake of a game or other things!
Smokers need a little sympathy. Because they are victims of nicotine, ostrasized.. etc.
If one suddenly bans victims smoking, they go in big depression, bad dreams, nightmares, pain in stomach and can commit suicide too if things go worst. 😔
May be Gautam's intention was pure, but method was wrong. 😔

What Gautam did was definitely wrong (talking about her parents and all that crap), but I'm sorry, I dont understand where "sympathy" comes into the picture here.

My brother is a smoker. I criticizes his choice and am regretful he choose to smoke. But sympathy for what? Does sonali even want to quit for her us to sympathize with her efforts?

It's a choice to smoke and she made hers. No sympathy.

Do I sympathize that she might feel embarsement Infront her parents, yes, but overall this whole situation is not as dramatic as being taken.

I still remembers tannas shocked face when she learned from Ali that her smoking was shown. She didn't create and Huss or fuss.

Sonali is a victim (say patient), as addicted to nicotine. People who suffer from addiction of nicotine, alcohol & other bad things need help & little sympathy. And as normal human being we should help them with sympathy and love.

Dear, that is absolutely your choice, if you want to sympathize & help addicted people including your brother or let them suffer. In my pov, as a human being we should help them, and in a sympathetic way!

You seem like a very sweet person, but you seem to be missing the point. These people are no ill. They do not need treatment. Smoking is not hardcore drug use. I'm American and owner of conveniences stores. Do you know how many people purchass cigarettes on a daily basis? It's outrageous. They are healthy, happy individuals. They are not ill that we need to sympathize with them.

Your assumption I think is demeaning. It reminds me of the church in America and how some people feel that being gay is a disease and can be cured. It's wrong I believe on your part to label smokers as ill beings. I certainly don't see addicts in karishma, sonali, praneet and so forth.

I agree...yahan koi bhi doodh ka dhula hua nahi hai... smoking hi to kar rahi hai na wo...kisi ko jaanboojh ke apne words or actions ki wajah se hurt to nahi kar rahi (unlike Gautam)...

aur log apne parents se aisi baatein is liye chupate hain kyonki wo unse ek level ki respect manintain karna chahte hai...Ek baar sharm ka parda hat gaya to bedharak wo apne parents ke samne bhi khullam khulla cig pi sakti hai... would Gautam or anyone prefer that?

Finally, agar Guatam ko sonali ki smoking chhudwani hi thi to friend ki tarah samjha bhuja kar chhudwa sakta tha na ki usko publicly humiliate karke...!

just my two cents ... but I'm sure certain people will never understand this logic!

Gautam wasn't trying to help her quit or anything like that, he was just taking away things that people don't wanna give up. And I don't think Sonali was gonna get such extreme withdrawals in just one day. Gautam's comment about telling parents wasnt very kind but Sonali cannot expect her parents to not find out after Bigg boss.

As a viewer I like both Gautam and Sonali I don't think she need sympathy because of nicotine or caffeine addiction also I know about depression, suicidality and withdrawal symptoms associated with nicotine and caffeine consumption as I've done research on it..those who say she should get rid of her addiction shouldn't have smoked in BB house if she was that worried about her parents seeing her its difficult...I agree Gautam's way wasn't right...but both were wrong in a certain way..
