I think Praneet and Pritam are realizing more and more that Puneet is not liked inside the house or outside and they are distancing themselves from him.
They also want to be in good books of bedroom gang to avoid nomination. So they join Upen.
If Gautam becomes Captain, it increases the chances of their nomination since bedroom gang won't be able to nominate Gautam.
