The moment housemates become the captain of the house, their attitude and behaviors change. I mean, captaincy is a weekly assignment. It shifts / rotates / passes on to the next player(s). It is not etched in stone and will, definitely, not be a long-term assignment that guarantees privileges.
So what is it about this 7-day glory that makes these stalwarts feel holier-than-thou? They get into their corporate boss mode, behave like they issue employee paychecks, and act like a total authoritative figure. There is a limit to what and how one should conduct themselves in a position of authority. In today’s episode, Rakesh was merely pushed by BB for ensuring order in the house. The moment he stepped out, an altercation between him and Pratik took place where, in a tryst, he turned around and told Pratik to shut up. Agreed Pratik is no saint, but sorry to say, you’re a leader and it is your task to keep your cool and ensure matters are heading in the right direction. If this is how you’re going to conduct yourself, no one will work under your pressure and shadow of condescension.
These “captains” really need to introspect and act a little extra civil in their approach of dealing with thise who coexist around them. This post is not about only Rakesh, but about all those who have been captains in the past and have shown their true colors while being in a position of authority.
