Very well written.... 👏... I am appalled with the female contestants like sana n aarti who were treated like dirt by shukla yet they went crawling back to him.... This shows that sana n arti have no self respect...

A man as entitled and annoying as Sidharth Shukla won Bigg Boss Season 13. When will we stop feeding the egos of such entitled, aggressive men?

Translated by Madhur Dave

Honestly, I am not particularly shocked that Sidharth Shukla won the 13th Season of Bigg Boss. This is probably because time and again, it was obvious that he was popular among the audiences.

However, the thing that disappointed ( not shocked) me was the fact that the masses voted for an arrogant, ill-mannered and short-tempered person. Once again, people proved that they would vote for based on what they saw and completely ignored the issues at hand. Sidharth was the one contestant who neither had any good qualities in him, nor did the whole season bring out any good in him.

I wouldn’t want someone like him as either a husband or son-in-law!

I would like to know if someone like Sidharth- short tempered, ill-mannered, entitled and indolent could be a role model to anyone. Would the people who voted for him see him as a potential son-in-law?

I am a mother and I wouldn’t want my daughter to marry someone like him, neither would I want to marry an entitled man like him. Throughout the season, did he show his humane side- either towards men or women. He lacked the basic human emotions like love, tolerance, sympathy and even patience. You know, just those basics that make you a good, decent human being?

He was anything but sweet and polite

Sidharth may have been the most popular person in that entire group, but he was not polite, sweet or even kind. He didn’t have the personality that a person of such of stature has. Basically, he didn’t care for anyone neither did he try to fix himself, he was emotionless and unconcerned about anything or anyone.

He made it very difficult to find him loveable. Throughout the season, I marvelled at how someone could only show variations of the same emotion- anger, arrogance and ill-mannered behaviour. How does one go through life behaving like this?

Another thing that confused me was how easily he was let off the hook for the same things other were reprimanded and even punished for!

Paras and Asim were yelled at or punished any time they were angry. At the same time, Sidharth was very politely asked to improve his behaviour. This was probably what helped the audiences make up their minds about voting for him, even though the others were better than him.

Really, why was Sidharth Shukla chosen?

What an amazing journey Asim had- he started at the bottom and reached the top. For that matter, Shehnaz was a wonderful entertainer and Rashmi, who was the complete package or even Arti who showed splendid growth throughout the season. Yet all of them lost!

Whom did the people choose? The man who is a hero on the big screen but is as flawed and annoying as one can get. People chose the person who would lose his temper at every little thing, the one who would prove his point by yelling it out loud, the sore loser, the one who would never help around the house during any emergency. They chose the entitled man who liked showing off his power, someone who wouldn’t refrain from pulling people down and someone whose masculinity is so fragile that he wouldn’t even show his emotions or vulnerabilities.

Sometimes, being a little vulnerable does not make you a weak person. Facing your emotions and vulnerabilities is quite a big thing to do. But the Big Boss winner Sidharth Shukla couldn’t do it. He constantly stuck to one mood and honestly, that isn’t natural or even appealing.

To all the people who actually voted for him

People who voted for Sidharth Shukla to win Bigg Boss season 13, would you really want someone with such shallow emotions to wed your daughter? What was it about him that touched your hearts enough for you to actually vote for him?

Did his character not really matter to you? Or did you vote for him simply because he acted in a few serials where he got to play the role of a hero? Was it because despite his behaviour Bigg Boss was extremely lenient with him?

Will any of you ever be able to take a stand on your own?

It enrages and disgusts me that people are unable to distinguish between the stars, their fake glamour, false images and popularity from their bad behaviour. I am often disappointed in people when they support such stars even when they’re in the wrong.

Winning Bigg Boss simply gave his entitled behaviour an approval

In a way, for Sidharth, winning Bigg Boss was like getting approval for his entitled, arrogant and rude behaviour. The common people will use his win to either justify similar behaviour or will try to be like him. And neither of these things are good.

Of the remaining contestants, leaving apart their basic human flaws, Arti and Rashmi didn’t really have any shortcomings, and despite being immensely popular, Shehnaz didn’t win, either. Asim had a spectacular journey and yet he also lost.

I think, somewhere, our society still worships men like Sidharth- the ones who are entitled, rude, immature and indolent, which is why he won. Or maybe, it is because we are a shallow society that would prefer to vote people based on their looks rather than their personalities. Is it because we aren’t meant to be leaders but merely followers? Or we probably are the people who are constantly in awe of stars with their glimmer and not the ones behind it!

No matter what the reason, the winner of Bigg Boss season 13 has shown me that a man may play the role of a hero on the big screen. But that really does not make him a hero in real life.

I guess those who voted for him dey themselves like him in nature else how can someone vote for him by seeing his behavior in entire season. Not for once he was chilled out or laughing...insulting someone in joke is not comedy. Even i was fan of him in initial days and used to dislike Asim but SS behavior made me to change from like to hate and Asim behavior to hate to like and i geniuely wanted him to win despite knowing he will not win.

You cant ignore the fact tht SS has zero quality of winner but people who voted them what dey actually like in him?? If his looks den that also faded as he was always in angry or gunda look which no one can find attractive. what else quailty he has?

Instead of questioning makers we shd question those people who actually voted for him or even happy that he won coz this shows their mentality. Like i said those who voted may be they are also like them in their real life thtsy dey like him and voted for him and if not then will you accept this kind of guy in ur life as ur life partner or frd or any relation and guys wants this type of guy for their sisters or daughters.

In earlier seasons v all know who are more deserving didnt win but those who win at least dey had some gud quality in them which made them winner. What quality SS has to at least make him in top 2?

Asim or rashmi were the perfect choice for winner not even Sana coz in the last month all her game or focus were around SS.

Totally missing the point. Of course people will move on past his win but will never forget what kind of person he had been. It's not like Shukla is going to share his win with us nor the others are going to share their loss with us. The issue is the glorification of his behavior by the house mates, show makers and the host and at the end the acceptance of him by public. I can't remember any winner being so negative ever. Anyone remotely close to such behavior were remprimanded and thrown out pretty quickly.

I see a lot of them saying BB is no show for morals and ethics. Well in that case why did we see Salman taking class of Paras, Asim and Rashmi for their behavior on the show and their relationships? The show makers wanted to preach a lot but all hell broke loose for Shukla. Then call it a crappy scripted show meant purely for entertainment. But if they want to show they care for right and wrong (which is what Salman portrays every WKV) then stop with their convenient stands. Soon we can accept BB is a shitty show with no morals and ethics (almost there).

Kabir Singh which is a fictional story - is being rejected by many. Shukla being a real person should have been rejected unanimously by all in a perfect world. Stop giving excuses for his behavior. There is no justification to it.

What’s funny? And accepted - Shukla won the show. And accepted - koi bhi dhoodh ka dhula nahi tha on the show.

What plenty don’t accept however, is how disgusting Shukla was on this show - people in the past who’ve displayed even 10% of the filth he did throughout the season, were bashed and thrown out. While this BullyLand ka president is celebrated and glorified.

The article asks a very pertinent question - when will we stop feeding the egos of entitled, abusive, egoistic bullies? And I think BB and everyone who supported and whitewashed Shukla answered that rather resoundingly, unfortunately.

Asim reacts. Siddharth is a bully, i.e. hurt someone with intent, insult someone with intent, he is a sore loser, not even a sore loser, he just cannot accept defeat, so will win by hook or crook otherwise his sanity will be lost as he is most unstable. When he speaks horribly to someone there is pure hatred and disdain on his face and he NEVER forgives or forgets to move on. He will never have the gracefulness to say thank you or sorry since he is the entitled one. He believes he and only he can be the leader and others have no choice but to follow him, he will never accept a point of view different from his leave alone even hear it out since he can NEVER be wrong you see, SS is ALWAYS right. He considers everyone beneath his lofty self, the conceited self-obsessed ba***rd! He thinks speaking good English (though I have found a few mistakes in his lol) makes him superior and those who can't are inferior, such a poor depraved soul he is as he cannot see beyond the exterior packaging of a person, can never see the beautiful soul beneath, he corrected people's English or pronunciation (Asim, Paras, SG, etc. etc) many times on the show. He is most insecure, in fact riddled with insecurities, especially vis-a-vis Asim and Rashami, in fact obsessed with Asim and Rashami and most insecure if his GANG (I mean it and have chosen the word deliberately) members even speak to them. In case they do then they are summarily dismissed off and told to continue hobnobbing with them. He is a coward who can never accept he was wrong in any given situation. No no woh mera matlab nahi tha. Falana poked me first. So unstable, didnt you all see how freakish and unstable he became when BB called him and Asim to the Confession Room?? Looked as if he would have a stroke, all veins bulging, out of control and all shaky and all, holding his head in his hands, hitting himself.

Well Asim is none of these.

Yes he gets angry, he gets poked, sometimes he pokes, yes, but after that he becomes normal and can still have normal conversations with his adversaries. He says sorry sincerely when he is wrong and unfortunately on this biased show, many times even when he wasnt wrong. His degree of resilience must be applauded. Hats of to him. He underwent maximum insult, torture, poking and every SS GANG member ganging up and attacking him in packs!!! But he kept his cool. He knows how to thank where thanks are due. He can be a true friend. In spite of all this he still continued feeling SS was like a brother and called him bro. KUDOS to this guy! He only fought back when his self respect was at stake or when he thought something unfair was happening.

And guess what one is just 26 and the other is 40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome Comparison.... Clearly shows the difference between Siddarth and Asim.

Shukla wining in bad impact on society. It is not "just a show" it impacts all of us. May be 0.000001% but still it negatively impacts the safely of my women firnds or future daughter. That is why I am angry with people who voted for him, as I take it as a personal damage.

Racist attacks on this forum? Wow.

I dont get this doodh ka dhula bullshit. So until someone flawless and perfect turns up people are going to justify Shukla's horrible behaviour? Koi doodh ka dhula nahi hai toh main sab ke upar gobar phekoon? Ya kisike ghar ko aag laga doon?

He might be popular but certainly not a great choice for 'winner' of such a show which is watched internationally too.

His fans voted for him, ok. Their own choice .. I can't enforce my opinion on them.

I have major problem with these makers ..😡

It's disgusting how they tried to whitewash MCPs like him 😕🤢

And kept promoting toxic relationships 🤓..

Such things might look 'real' and 'heroic' 'romantic' on TV in real life it's quite traumatic and troublesome to live with such a guy

I'm glad people are writing about it even if it makes no change regarding the 'winner' of the show. Atleast it creates awareness even if it's on small scale it's fine.

Ditto.....I ahve no issues with SHukla fans. I understand they lost their judgement wth teh constant whitewashing by channel. The bias was so much & so much well planned that even most sane people lost track & actually thought SHukla is a good human.

Avoiding violence, editing out aggresiveportions, destroying competetiors cances with focus on their personal lives, scriptig some contestants actions, manipulating votes, editing Shuklaslots before voting line opening shot, WKV praises, etc etc. The list can go on.
