Yea it's true the other side has more people and that's why he did it. But the question is why does he have to do it in the first place? He is strong enough himself. So why take so much effort to side with the majority at the cost of losing your strongest bonds? Just to become a captain that the house won't revolt against? Being cordial with everyone isn't wrong and a captain should do that but a captain should also be fair and involve the entire house when duties are being discussed.
He has just been admonished by Salman for violence. He doesn't want to fight now. If he would go back to Asim & paras gang boycott his captaincy he has no option but to go towards more conflicts. He knows he can't control his temper & the cycle will continue. More over Shefali making Himanshi winner, didn't help the situation. Finally he couldn't forgive Asim to go back & Asim's new attitude doesn't help his situation to be any better. On the other hand with paras he has a peaceful coexistence & Sana is on his side. So he can spend a non violent spell with them & have easy footageful life. Only he had to accept to go along with the plan paras chalks.
Also about changing sides, it was so drastic and felt very uncomfortable to watch him sit with Paras and co late at night and bitch about his so called brother Asim when the other side have done no such thing. He even accused Asim of talking to Rashmi lmao. Double standards, I swear.
That was done to satisfy the group that he's one of them & he can be trusted. There by he can be a bit relaxed with them. Having known paras, he knows paras will watch him & wont trust until he proves it. Offcourse having a smooth time as a captain with the majority is also a factor. He won't be fair with those who was not fair with him.
