Hi all.
Saw the episode today. It was fine. Just a jist.

> Mughal soldiers were trying their best to enter the Chittor Fort after making the breaches in the Fort walls. Rajput soldiers were defending their fort.

> Today Jaimal was declared the commander of Rajput Forces.

> Mughals had muskets/guns. Rajputs had simple arrows.

> Mughals blow away the walls of fort and enter in large numbers. Episode ends.

Precap:
I want to talk about this.

It showed that some men in green colored dresses holding muskets / guns were attacking (it was not shown whom they attacked.)

To me this looks that , they were the Afghan soldiers who were present in REALITY in the Fort of Chittor, and fought from the side of Pratap / Mewar against Mughal forces.

What you think ? Just a guess.!

I made a latest post about Chittor {ACTUAL Struggle LINK} where the same methods were mentioned, which are adopted by Akbar in the show to get in the Fort..

I guess, except the Major role of Pratap, they are following good deal of history here along with sufficient dramatization required for TV shows. I say this as i saw another show , and in that comparison i find this treatment more better, as far as war is concerned, though it can be more better too..

Superb information Garima. Thank you.
Now, I guess i am right here.

Ismail was the name of the Afghan soldier who was fighting from the side of Rajputs in the Battle of Chittor. And he was shot dead by Akbar himself from his musket. Ismail was a VERY EXPERIENCED musket man. :)

I mentioned his name in the post whose link i shared yesterday and above also. Do share if you get more information. It will be interesting to see how much close they go to history.

I am excited to know about arrival of Ismail, because i wanted to see involvement of Afghans also. After all, Pratap had no problem with people of different religions. This shows another aspect of his personality..

Abhay, I have different views here. I am not happy at the way they are showing Chittor side. Akbar side seem more of history. Mewaris are shown not acting and with lack of resources. Going by your blogs they had enough to carry on the war for four months and it was a fierce resistance at that. But look at what they are showing. They have just arrows and bows, less food and worse, they are not sure of themselves and what ought to be done. They only give some tevar dialogues but other than that nothing much coming from Chittor. I am super sad at the way Maharana is reduced to. Essence one will get from the show is, he could not handle and respond to the siege well. Why can't the soldiers be shown string, daring and full of action. As I said the fierce resistance is not shown.
With having jumped into the fort attacks part now, they will soon jump to Saka, only leaving a feeling that Chittor side didn't put a good fight and succumbed to the pressure martrying themselves. In summary Chittor is shown weak.

I am quite upset at what they have reduced the Chittor siege to. Hence I requested you to post all the history on Sony FB and wherever, so that people and the PH also know what Chittor stood for unlike what is shown today.

Ofcourse Garima,
Showing Ismail is a welcome change.

I had lost hopes of watching muskets and canons with Chittor.
Now, it seems we will watch that as well. :)

Kaana,
Nice to read your views. :)

I am not so unhappy with this track, perhaps the reason is - I have watched others shows as well, and have received a lot of disappointment on many fronts. If i compare my earlier experience, then this tack certainly stands out as a better one.

Though, I will agree with you that Chittor is shown without arms and weapons right now ; and they are not doing anything at the moment. But, we can have solace in the fact that, now we have got canons and guns as well with Chitor people, with arrival of Ismail.

As Garima told above that the makers have introduced Ismail. This may lead us to see some more action. The makers have hovered more or less around history, incase you try to compare with what i wrote, albeit with their own spice. :)

Don't worry. Saka is not going to happen anytime soon. Ismail and Afghans will also frustrate Akbar to no end. :-P

I am posting on FB Page also, and i request with those reading these posts to kindly spread the word and post the links at the places where ever possible. This was a HARD FOUGHT war and deserves to be known, as you say. :)
