Hugs to everyone who reviewed my previous post: A poem for AJABDE. ๐
Thanks guys!
You know guys, Rajas in those days would marry quite a no. Of times. Sometimes for protecting a woman, or saving her honour, at times because they hadn't found love yet ( thank god it didn't happen like that with our favourite maharana๐) and mostly for political alliance ( u can't attack your son in law now can you? ๐)
Here is a short story on what ajabde might have felt when pratap got married again...relax guys, it won't be all that sad...after all we know he loved her alone. ๐ Reviews are welcome! ๐

Forever, by Chaya Ghosh.
As the maharani of mewar sat near the window , a single tear escaped her eyes. She had promised herself that she would cry. Not for this. Not for a decision which would help her kingdom, a decision which she herself had approved of. She remembered a promise she had made to her husband when she was merely 16.
" I promise that I shall support you in very attempt to hold up thy kingly duties, even if it means leaving aside your personal feelings"
How easy it had been, at 16 , looking into Kumar pratap's eyes and making that promise. How hard it was to keep that promise.
At any rate, she had to get ready. She was the maharani and it was her duty to welcome the new bride with a smile. Ajabde was just about to call for her Dasis when a voice startled her.
"Aren't you ready yet?"
" Ranaji?! Forgive me, but aren't you supposed to be at the vivvah mandal? " ajabde put up a brave smile and asked.
" Yes I have to, but I wanted to ask you something first." Maharana pratap smiled back.
"Ji, of course."
" Ajabde, what is your favourite flower?"
" Ranaji...what kind of..." Ajabde was a little surprised.
" ANswer me. " Pratap said.
" WEll, I love hibiscus. It is so beautiful."
" Really, what is that you see in them? Aren't red roses more beautiful? Aren't jasmines more exotic to smell?" A playful smile flitted around the maharana's face.
" That might be so, but I love hibiscus the most. I can't help my choice Ranaji. " Ajabde grew more confused.
" Even if other flowers are prettier? Or better in other people's mind? " Pratap came a little closer to her.
" Yes Ranaji...but why are you...? " She looked at him.
" Before I go down, I just wanted to tell you, that you are my hibiscus. And you alone will always be." Pratap said quietly.
" Ranaji, you...I...this is so..." Emotions overwhelmed Ajabde.
. What do u think? That because you hide everything with that smile, I can't understand anything? " The maharana wiped a tear brimming on her eyes.
" You...you should go down now...everyone will be waiting for you." Ajabde smiled, this time, with her heart a thousand times lighter.
At the door, he turned and looked at her with eyes full of unsaid words.
At that moment she knew everything would be alright.
