Well this is a sort of prologue.The characters especially Pratap is a little different from the way he's being portrayed in the show. I hope you guys like it. I know it's not too good but remember guys this is only my second time of writing something. Your comments would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to know how I can improve. So here goes nothing..
CHAPTER 1
It was just another quiet morning in Bijolia. Everyone was at least content if not happy. They were all following their daily routine blissfully unaware of the arriving caravan from the Chittor- the very city they were preparing to rebel against.
Maharani Jaivanta Bai- the Maharani of Mewar, the chief queen of Rana Uday Singh and the mother of the valiant and famous crown prince of Mewar- Kunwar Pratap Singh, was experiencing a lot of emotions but guilt and regret were the most prominent. Most mothers would be extremely proud to have a son like Pratap and Indeed she was proud but at this very she was simply furious at her son.
How could he do this to Ajabde- the very girl he had claimed to love?! she thought.
It is my fault too. I had no idea that my leaving would spoil two innocent lives. Hey eklingji! please forgive me. As she was having these thoughts the palki came to a halt. " Bijolia ki seema tak pohoch gaye hain hum Maharani Sa." a soldier informed her. "Ranaji seema-rakshako se baat kar rahe hain. Shighra hi hum Rajmehel mein honge." Jaivanta Bai felt both nervous and ecstatic on hearing this. "Hey Eklingji! Hansa aur Ajabde ka saamna karne ka saahas dijiye hume.." she prayed silently.
In the royal palace- the rajmehel of Bijolia another woman was praying for strength too. Ajabde the first and the very much forgotten ( by the chittod rajparivar.according to her) wife of Kunwar Pratap was praying for the strength to rebel against her own Sasuraal when her friend and constant companion Saubhagyavati came almost running to her. "Ajabde.. Chittod..Ranaji..Sainik.." Saubhagyavati was saying in between fast breaths. Ajabde put her hand on Saubhagyavati's shoulder and said," Saubhagyavati aap pehle shaant ho jaiye aur thik se bataiye.Aap itni vismit aur pareshaan kyun lag rahi hain?" Saubhagyavati now breathing normally said," Jab hum aapko bataaenge tub aap bhi vismit ho jaaengi Ajabde! Ranaji aae hain Bijolia!" To say that Ajabde was shocked would be an understatement.She recovered quickly and asked," Kya ve akele aae hain?" "Nahi Ajab ve akele nahi hain. Lagta hain unki do raaniya hain unke saath." Ajabde couldn't help but feel a little disappointment at that. Saubhagyavati quickly noting the expression on Ajab's face said," Chinta mat kariye Ajab Ranaji aae hain toh Kunwar Pratap naa aae aisa ho sakta hain bhala?" She asked a little mischiveously. Ajabde chose to ignore that remark and asked," Aapne maa ko bataya?" "Haan unhne kaha hain ki hum chaahe ya na chaahe ab bhi Bijolia Mewar ki riyaasat hain aur apne Raja ka swaagat karna humara kartavya hain. Isliye app shighra taiyaar hokar aa jaaiye." "Thik hain." Ajabde replied "Aap jaaie hum aate hain."
Why is Ranaji here? Did he somehow get to know about the rebellion? Did the ashwapalak..? "Nahi nahi." she muttered to herself."Vo to jaante bhi nahi vidroh ke baare mein. Hum kyun ye sab soch rahe hain humare prashno ke uttar hume shighra hi praapt ho jaaenge.." she said to her reflection in the mirror and started getting ready. Little did she know that many of the unanswered questions lurking at the back of her mind were going to be answered today, questions that she had put in some corner of her mind like some treasured objects of the past...
While all this was happening Kunwar Pratap disguised as the Ashwapalak and his best friend Chakrapani disguised as Dhyan singh the infamous Jyotish were sitting on a boulder in the forest having an extremely intellectual conversation about Pratap's newest discovery. The brave warrior had recently discovered that Baijilal- the real ruler of Bjolia was none other than his wife Ajabde and Pratap quite naturally was fuming. "Moorkh!" Pratap said, suddenly. "Ab humne kya kiya Baojiraj?" Asked Chakrapani, quite innocently. "Aap nahi Chakrapani Hum! Hum aisi Moorkhta kaise kar sakte hain? Beshak Ajabde hi Baijilal hain. Aur kaun ho sakta hain?" "Aisa nahi hain Baojiraj. Hansa bai sa bhi ho sakti hain." Chakrapani suggested. "Nahi Chakrapani. Vo Ajabde hi hain. Bijolia mein aur kisi stri mein itni kshamta hain hi nahi. Hansa masiji mein bhi nahi" Chakrapani was a little surprised at this. "Ab hum kya karenge Baojiraj?" he asked. "Ab.." Pratap took a deep breath trying to calm himself."Ab hum vahi karenge jo hum yaha karne aae hain. Ajabde ke baijilaal hone se koi fark nahi padta. Hum apni yojna nahi badlenge. Ye humari matrubhoomi ka prashna hain Chakrapaani. Aur uske liye hum jo karna hain vo karenge phir chaahe uske liye hume Ajabde se phirse milna hi kyun na pade." He said calmly and with some determination. But Charkrapani's thoughts had strayed in a completely different direction. "Baojiraj..Kahi aisa toh nahi ki Ajabde bai sa in sab se asatya bol rahi ho? Aisa bhi ho sakta hain ki unhone chittod koi sandes bheje hi nahi." Pratap looked thoughtful at this but then he completely dismissed the thought."Nahi Chakrapaani.Ajabde ne Ranimaa ke saath chaahe jo kiya ho. Par ve Kapti nahi hain... Apni matrubhoomi se vo bhi prem karti hain. Praja ke saath aisa vishwasghaat vo kabhi nahi karengi." Now that was unexpected. The man who fumed in anger even at the mention of Ajabde's name was defending her?
Saubhagyavati needs to hear this. Thought Chakrappani. He was positively ecstatic as this meant there was still hope for Pratap and Ajabde. Just as he was opening his mouth to say something Pratap stopped him and removed his sword from the scabbard. His perceptive ears had noticed some movement. But there was no need for the sword as it was Venidaas another of Pratap's friend who had come. Pratap relaxed but soon noticed the anxious expression on Venidaas' face and asked,"Kya baat hain?" "Aap vishwas nahi karenge baojiraj! Ranaji yaahan aae hain.." "Kya?! Dajiraj yaha kyun?.." Venidaas who looked visibly excited at this point continued,"Parantu ashcharya ki baat toh yeh hain Baojiraaj ke unke saath Maharani sa hain. Aapki Ranima!" Pratap's eyes widened. "Kya?! Aapne thik se toh dekha naa Venidaas?" this from Chakrapani. " Bohot acchese.. Hum kya andhe behre lagte hain aapko Jyotish ji?' But Pratap wasn't lisening to any of this. He had already begun running towards the rajmehel. "Arre Baojiraaj! apna ashwa to le jaaiye.." shouted his friends as they resignedly began running after their valiant and much faster friend and leader..
