i read somewhere that udaisingh came to know abt bhatiyani's evil intentions for pratap..and still he went ahead and promised her to make jagmal the king..
isnt it possible that he did it just so tha bhatiyani would stop targeting pratap..maybe he did this for his beloved son's safety..being a king he could've punished bhatiyani..but the fact is he loved her..plus she was a woman..and rajputs r very protective of their women..so he spared her but took care of pratap's life by promising her.
just my speculation..and i know he could've done 100 more things if he really wanted this..but this is one of the possibilites
