A little too convenient?

While I am thoroughly enjoying watching Maya in her psychopathic avatar, I can't help but think that everything always working out in her favour, whether she has control over it or not, is all too convenient.

  • Arjun primarily believed Ayan was guilty because he could hear him mouth some filthy dialogues. This was not in Maya's control, but Ayaan said exactly the kind of things that would implicate him in Arjun's eyes. E.g. Death is too good for you; I'll do even worse to you; All limits will be crossed today, etc.
  • The medical team presumably accepted bribes or some other payoff and agreed to tamper with the medical reports to prove the rape attempt.
  • Samay turned out to be her ex-lover and was all too happy to support her in the court case.
  • Samay,as her ex and Saanjh's boyfriend, is perfectly placed to spy on Saanjh and be Maya's informer.
  • Nobody thought of investigating whether some footage could be obtained from the broken cameras.
  • The female social workers were all too happy to accept bribes to humiliate Saanjh in front of the media.
  • Jhanvi can't communicate at all and therefore Maya's past remains shrouded in mystery.

I know the show is about Maya, but the fact that she has no formidable opponent, coupled with how conveniently everything falls into place for her, is a bit hard to overlook!

Exactly so. Was GG this convenient to Amy Dunne? I haven't watched though. If they're following GG, I would like to know what was in there. Otherwise there's a rude possibility that maya will soon fall. She's flying her last, too conveniently.

Agree.. law of averages is gonna catch up soon.. she relies far too heavily on cameras.. don't know why it didn't strike Arjun that Ayaan had never been in the house before, how could he have found the position of the cameras and then destroyed them.. why didn't Maya raise an alarm or call the police then..she must have had a lot of time when he was apparently breaking cameras.. Maya is getting over confident and complacent.. she's up against a dark horse or an under dog so to speak but she's forgetting she's against a mother who has lost everything and practically has nothing to lose anymore..this is her only chance and she will go to any extent to save her son.. Maya will get a severe blow soon.. that should be the turning point in the show.. waiting for that...

Agreed. It's all too convenient. Sooner or later, it'll come back to bite her as well. But until it does, no choice but to accept that since it's Maya Mehrotra, everything works out perfectly well in her favour.

Very shoddy story telling!
The CCTV cameras were reportedly all damaged one day!
Before you blink your eye they are all back , fine & working!
Maya really has a super efficient team to take care of her house!
And secret room in her house?
A female Shaan of old B'wood movie sshtyle?
What next?
Maya will have connection with under world?
Anything is possible in this cock & bull story!
Pathetic!

It's poor narrative to make Maya seem uber smart when she really isn't all that clever. As many have pointed have and so has the topic maker, she relies on Her money and the convenience of people who are there at the right space and right time... she herself hasn't done anything to be called high functioning sociopaths ala CEOs( look it up!) like even accusing Ayan if attempted rape was foolhardy if not for destroyed tapes and samay's confession( samays confession itself being faulty because neither was he there the whole time, nor did he see anything new that Arjun already didn't know) and ofc Saanjh's inexperience

Even now, the whole Maya's anti soap Bahu avatar, and craziness isn't impressive since Maya isn't to be petty and silly, rather cold, calculative, and mostly introverted. This Maya is rash, abrasive for no reason. I would rather see the old Maya who whilst didn't or couldn't control people, could take charge of situations and turn things around.also, if lack of 'opponents' makes Maya this brash and abrasive, then was Ashwin the only one who could see thru her, and semi- control her??

Ofc, as a chain reaction even Saanjh, Arjun have to be dumbed down, samay who was a game changer, is reduced to being her bitch.

It's seems creatives have hit a roadblock and don't know how to take the story forward. But constantly setting up scenarios for Maya to just "win" takes away from the genuinity of the show, and seems an exercise in futility, only done for the popular actress.

Ps: no offence intended for any actor, they are all amazing in their roles, just my thoughts

Cant but agree with all the views. Maya is so powerful and using all the power to just keep one Arjun with her forever. It is not Behaddh pyaar but it is pleasure of exercising her power over Arjun to spite Ashwin who was never under her control. She has even immobilised her own mother.

Everything is too convenient and I dont know how far CVs will go to make her immortal and super woman.

I prefer the old Maya before she started liking Arjun, when she went to Mauritious and before marriage. This new Maya is good but i prefer the old Maya. The reason i watch this show is for Maya and i cant bear to see her separating from Arjun.

Nope it wasn't. There were instances where things went off-track(not-as-planned) for Amy Dunne too, like when she was caught while hiding. That proved no matter how sharp, clever and shrewd she was, eventually she was caught-up in something which simply wasn't in her hands.
Since this is a TV show and laws of nature don't apply here, Maaya is 'conveniently' getting away with everything and anything, right or wrong. Things like 'you reap what you sow' or 'what goes comes around' are not and probably will not be applied here. You can call it poor-writing or giving a single character too much importance but this is how it is.
Amy Dunne got away in the end, Maaya will too. So yeah, I would to suggest make peace with this, life will be better.😃
