Yea I don't think breaking those promises is a big deal for him
He started drinking even tho he promised her he wont
But I think underneath this sheet of hatred lies love which is stopping him from going back

Does anyone remember the movie Laadla?Sridevi separated Anil Kapoor from everyone and doesn't even give him right to be her husband.So can we interpret something like that,after leap Arjun is separated from his family and friends and they even have lost their baby.So Maya will keep him as her husband but he is debarred by his rights

The only difference is that the Saas is not like panda
She decides to give her son and his wife some space to live a better life ;)
