Picture of an ideal family. They are always together. They care about each other. Worring about each other. They are interested about each other's problems. They are ready to support each other. To help. To raise. To intercede. Their quarrels are insignificant. Their roles are painted, and they move according to this

Prem is ready to defend his daughter. He's a father. He must decide and act. He sends Saanj to Mauritius. He offers Saanj to go to Singapore. He doesn't want and can't wipe daughter's tears. He is a defender - one who must remove the cause of his daughter's tears, and not consequences

Suman is ready to go with her daughter to the end. She's a mother. She should support, scold, encourage. She pushes to confess to Arjun. She scold when Saanj doesn't leave for Singapore. She offers directions of motion. She is the support that is always there. She's the back where you can weep fill and be weak.

Shubh, he is an adviser. His world is pure and transparent. He loves his sister, but he doesn't know the world of adult emotions and feelings. He is a small theorist, everything seems easy and simple. But he is a future man, so now he is ready to be a protector for his sister, with his childish methods.

Saanj/Dusky is a lawyer, a friend and, as they would say, a good person. Her nickname Dusky is twilight, the time between day and night. But Saanj's world is a world of black and white. Her judgments are categorical. Her world is divided into right and wrong. Her love - full dedication. Her intentions are always good, but actions are harmful. She does not have the strength to fight. And she prefers to run away. She interferes, always. She is too much

Vandana - mother/stepmother and head of the house. Her house has her rules. Control must be in her hands. Her decisions must be carried out. Her desires should be above all. She must be placed above others. Vandana never admit her mistakes. All the fault always lies with others, if no one is around, then probably the fault will be on a neighbor's cat or magnetic storms

Ayan is a brother who knows the right things. He loves his brother, but he loves Vandana too. He wants Arjun to accept Vandana, then his family will be perfect for him, everything else doesn't interest him. He is unripe and hot

Arjun is loneliness and misunderstanding. His selfishness is derived from the selfishness of the surrounding people. Vandana appeared in his house. His father soon after his mother's death married Vandana, for sake Arjun. But Arjun became all alone. His connection with the house is Ayan. The reason for the lack of a home is Vandana. His world was built by other people's decisions, without his participation. His relationship was built on obliged to, must, and promised. Everyone wants, everyone demands, and no one listens to him. His solution to the problem is to leave. Slam the door of is his option. His desires are important, his desires are cut off from the world and the family, because he hangs somewhere in space without a home

When Ideal involves with selfishness and thirst it destroys ideal. That's why Prem doesnt want his daughter to meddle with Sharma's or Mehrotra's because he knows he has experienced what selfishness and thirst can do to his child for whom it is black and white and things more white than black. Reason she has only seen that in her home. Her upbringing is done on those values. She had a very loving family. her perspective of outer world is also like that.

That's why Arjun is duffer for her, she feels Vandana has to be respected because she respects Suman. But Vandana is not Suman. But Saanjh sees Suman in Vandana. The biggest mistake of her life I would say. The illusional world of Vandana she might follow leaving the reality of what her mother had told.

Coming to selfishness irrespective of what Prem wants ideal has to enter selfishness the question is where. Because when ideal enter selfishness, it has to has the power to attack and expose the selfishness there. It should be able to humble the so called " I am right" people. Because thirst cannot do that. As selfishness will put the blame on thirst as Vandana is doing on Maya. In selfishness also there is grade. One is Vandana Mata who has a sob story. I did this for Arjun, that for Arjun it is a facade that hides something deep or super ego on she is always right. There is Arjun for whom everyone takes decision, he is called duffer. In a way he wants luxury but wants to camouflage it as love and actually Maya becomes a prey for him too if she doesnt watch her steps.

Third character is Ayan. His selfishness is more kiddish. He was always go between Arjun and VM. He wants them both. In reality very much attached to his brother but will be forced to choose his mother as that is what is expected out of an ideal son. But he will miss, miss his bhaiyya, miss his bhabi but will realize they have gone far away from them. Dont think Ayan will be able to take it. He might use Saanjh/Dusky to satisfy that void in him as he says Dusky is the connect between this family and that family. Now where it will take we have to see.

Now thirst. The thirst of power, thirst of wealth, thirst of control to quench it in the right way ideal is not enough. If ideal goes behind this ideal will be burnt. Ideal needs selfishness to go for this thirst. That grey area has to be traversed. once again it depends on where ideal is connected with selfishness. Any wrong match of ideal and selfishness thirst will win.

@kavsy, on the idea of an ideal in general there is no place next to egoism and thirst. He is ideal, the transition beyond the limits is contrary to it on principle

The ideal in itself also can not be a couple to somebody else, because otherwise there will be no balance again. Thirst can't delight egoism until she sees what is in her, what she has herself. Egoism can't quench the thirst exactly until he sees not only his needs, but also the others

@shruthiravi, but first the ideal should become wider, must see the limit

The ideal is a template. This is the framework. This is an example. But in reality there is no place for the ideal. The ideal doesn't survive in harsh conditions. The ideal is a kind of environment that you can try on yourself. Like twilight - this is a transitional time. Flow. The ideal must become an environment, but in order to be able to become a medium for selfishness and thirst, the ideal must accept and understand both, otherwise in its desire to lead those whom don't know, ideal will destroy both - thirst will wither, selfishness will surpass itself

Yes Ayan's ego was bruised, when he was called step brother. But he said he will give life for his mother. Was his mother right in doing the road drama. Yes VM tells Arjun is lost in the Maya of Maya's eyes. Then Ayan is lost in the Maya of ideals. That a son always has to protect mother if a choice comes doesnt matter she is right or wrong.

Saanjh comes with the news of child. What does she think. Fevi quick. Fix everything fast. No broken things cannot be fixed that easily.
