It can't be compared coz Vikram is a villain, Maya is supposed to be the 'hero' among the villains đ¤
In Asur, Nikhil, a righteous man, facilitates murder of 2 innocent people but his circumstances are shown to make people understand his predicament but finally his innocent daughter dies too so karma balanced itself but ur empathy is with Nikhil from start to end.
In fact even Shubh the villain, his circumstances are also explained to understand him if not empathize with him.
I didn't watch Asur. So can't comment

I think ppl empathized with MM only when the childhood trauma revealed and after her death. I've seen many ppl bashing her for killing innocent ppl in the name of her love for Arjun. Coming to MJS it's like 2 version,Manvi and Maya. Even I feel writers wanted ppl to empathize only with Manvi not Maya. Maya is also became like MJ but Rudra's love invoked the old Manvi in some instances. So many are feeling sad only when she is losing her beloved ones.
In short MM got sympathy when she died even after killing many ppl . It could be the same with MJS. If she too dies at the end ppl might feel the same empathy for herđ¤ˇ
In that way the story was sort of going fine.Vikram was only brought it to kill Rajiv and Nandini. But MJ could have done that only
As I said my long rant was primarily for being a MayRa fanđ

Why would you give a spoiler

MM got empathy coz Arjun never actually loved her. He wasn't someone like Rudra.
She had an abusive childhood and was a mental patient. Her actions too aren't justifiable but people connected with her coz from start to the extension, her character was consistent.
MJS was introduced as an anti hero with zero background. Manvi came after 2-3months and wrapped up in 2 episodes. It doesn't work like that.

Wohi to.
Its like you want the viewers to ship MayRa but then suddenly make Maya kill Rudra's dearest brother
Ditching him or breaking his heart would have made more sense as the Tia and Shruthi were discussing
@Bold - Cvs bhi pyschos hainđ
I think one of the most best written dark characters were in a short film named Kahanibaaz and in Sumukhi Suresh's Pushpavalli. You know they are wrong, you don't want them to go on with thier -ve emotions and deeds.
In Kahaanibaaz, they explained his actions beautiful, but in Pushpavalli they weren't explained or reasoned with, becuase they were wrong, period.
