Yes thats why I like defending her sometimes because I love them both, but she was misunderstood a lot because she spoke less and writers built him up better, I relate to both characters and found her quiet strength soothing to Aditya's more evident strength. They complimented one another and neither was perfect. I think its difficult to articulate strength without words sometimes, especially if the character does not have visible childhood trauma. Not many people can relate to having both parents while growing up and having a dad that was present and did not cheat nor physically abused their mother and how as a protected child the thought of your husband cheating could be as ridiculous as saying the sky is actually green when all your life it was blue, even if evidence was provided, I'd probably argue that there were some type of chemicals in the sky hiding the skies natural blue colour from view, but in actual fact the sky is blue. Her father never cheated, so why would she be quick to believe that her husband cheated? Nothing in her childhood prepared her to anticipate such a betrayal. She was not stupid to believe the best in her husband and other people, just inexperienced in betrayal to know the signs of it. Which is also harder to relate to because a lot of people have grown up seeing or experiencing betrayal in some form or other. Zoya was acting like someone who experienced major grief, loss and challenges at a later stage in her life, someone who was sheltered most of their adult and childhood. She trusted easily because her trust had not been broken at a young age, she believes its possible to trust someone and for it to pay off, she had her dad and her mom as an example, its why she took it so hard and closed her heart when she trusted and was proven wrong to trust someone who was not her dad and instead decided to trust her dad's judgement rather than her heart, she knew she had not created enough boundaries in her heart to protect it from betrayal when she gave it to someone, she grieved and healed enough to not hold bitterness and mistrust in her heart. Aditya lying woke her up in realizing she could easily get hurt again and that her father was right in both instances, it was not about how big the prank was, but how easily she trusted another man over her dad and how again she was proven wrong and figured her father is the only man who she has trusted and has not let her down for putting that trust in him. So she decided to trust her dad's judgement and ignore or fight her own, which meant fighting Aditya, because he'd taken Yash's place in her life. But this time she was choosing her dad over Yash, she was leaving no room for possible betrayal, she was choosing a man that her father chose. A father who has never been proven wrong in his warnings to her over her incstincts that have been proven wrong by Yash, Mahi, her sister when she lied about her her job and now Aditya a man who always did things to your face and never behind your back when she first met him and thought it was safe to trust him because he would do things to her face always. It was not just Aditya's character that was put in question and was found to be lacking, but her lack of judgement in people as well. Aditya was proven to not be a total failure by Zoya's achievements when she gave him credit for them while she was proven to be completely incompetent in identifying people by his lie. That's why she felt betrayed and I think in the beginning Aditya only understood the betrayal part, just not the trust in her father part, he only understood that at her wedding. She had lost confidence in herself which she had wrapped in her trust in Aditya's to your face character.
Hey are you on Twitter by any chance? I really like your perspective about the show and characters😄 if you do have an account on the bird app, I would suggest you to post what you had written online using the Bepannaah hashtag. It would help some of the fickle minded fans understand things better 😂

I agree! Recently joined twitter and fans are insane 🤣
I was attacked for saying I don’t think Zoya or Arjun had a right to read Pooja’s diary

I agree with this. Zoya had no reason to distrust Yash which is why she refused to believe that he cheated, he hadn’t allowed there to be a situation where she doubted him whereas with Aditya he knew Pooja lied to him about where she was and his experience with his father before led him to believe he was cheated. It made sense for them to behave the way they did.
Also the part about her reaction to Aditya confessing how he felt. It made sense because she thought he was lying about being her friend when he actually loved her and it played in with her fear of being unable to know what people think which is why she slapped him. It also proved her father right because he was able to see that Aditya loved her when she couldn’t. Following what her father said seemed right to her in the moment because she had been wrong twice before and he was right and she probably didn’t want to go through the pain of being hurt and being proven wrong by her father again.
The only time Zoya annoyed me was when she wanted to reopen the case and was willing to ruin Aditya’s life too by letting him go to prison despite him helping her so much and at that point she knew Yash cheated on her. I didn’t get why she was so adamant to reopen it when she knew she’s ruin both of their lives. Also I didn’t like how she made Aditya feel guilty which led to him apologising at the court ( I’m not sure but this might have been put in because there was a leap)
The issue is that Zoya was a very subtle character and you had to see how she acted rather than what she said, she was a character where you had to understand the thought process behind her actions which people failed to do. I’ve also felt that Jenny’s own fans failed to accept Zoya as a character because they wanted her to be like Maya. People failed to understand that Zoya would never be like Maya.😔

😂😂 that’s bound to happen. Often I feel like fans are unable to differentiate between the character and the actor. They assume that when you say Zoya shouldn’t have read the diary you’re talking about Jenny so feel like they have to defend her😂
Even though the diary had things written about Yash it was from Pooja’s perspective and she was Aditya’s wife. The diary was private and would have had things about their relationship too so it wasn’t right for Zoya to read that. It would’ve only made sense if Aditya had given it to her to read which meant he didn’t mind if she knew about his relationship with Pooja.
Arjun reading it made no sense, he seemed way too interested in finding out what was written in there😂

That’s why I have always refrained from discussing about any show or characters on twitter 😂 some ppl are ready to pounce on you for having different opinions. It’s ok if you disagree but I don’t know why a few resort to name calling and other personal attacks😕

It really used to annoy me when ppl would compare Zoya and Maya like why man there’s no similarities 🤦♀️
