yea the promo has him punching aditya but keeping that aside...
was really impressed with the scene with zoya. first he was packing his suitcase but he wasn't sitting there moping. yea, he feels bad that it didn't work out but he is realistic. then when zoya comes, he doesn't treat her with sarcasm or shame her in any way. he doesn't roll his eyes and say "I told you so!" instead, he welcomes her in graciously and when she apologizes, he listens and accepts her. and when she requests for engagement, his immediate reaction is not to jump for joy.
instead, he tells her to think about it further and says that she is reacting out of anger against aditya and she needs to cool down. as she pours her heart out, he listens as a good friend, gives her water and nowhere does he interrupt or offer her unwanted advice. and after that, zoya says to go ahead, he says okay -- why? because he doesn't believe in love stories or some fairy tale. he is not expecting zoya to love him as of this moment -- it is an arranged marriage where the families get along and she seems like someone who he can get along with. it is a choice of brain.
for him, zoya is not in love but aditya is. even we viewers have been complaining that zoya has friend zoned aditya but it was very clear to everyone including waseem and arshad that aditya was in love with her. so as far as he is concerned, it is one way love. so zoya is free for him to pursue and if she is saying yes, why not right? so, when arshad realizes zoya loves aditya, we will likely see the same decency that he has displayed so far. isn't it nice to have a third wheel who is a decent human being?
and back to the promo -- if your fiance was being stalked, would you simply say "yes, please come and confess and keep bugging my girl?" ... so I give arshad a pass if he does punch aditya.
