Before I delve into my post, I would like to point out to the few Rehan/Nandish fans on this forum that my concerns regard the CHARACTER not the ACTOR-Nandish. Unnecessary comments will be ignored.
Regular comments I've come across constructed by Rehan fans consist of 'the reasons behind the low TRP ratings is due to the hero of the show himself-our hottie, Mr Zain Abdullah. Before I go on, I would like to make it clear to you that ZAIN is the MAIN LEAD, no temporary cameo will ever be ABLE to replace him.
Other comments include, 'Zain deserves the harsh treatment as he had so easily uttered the word 'Talak', and he 'apparently' does not honour Aaliya's self-respect'.
My first advice for you Rehan lovers would be to watch Beintehaa from episode 1, then will you realise that your illogical criticisms are undoubtedly flawed. You will come across undeniable chemistry between soul mates, the beautiful journey that delivered intensity, passion, pure love, and magic. Not only that, you will notice the transition between childhood to adulthood, the indescribable change Zain had submitted to. This is called ZAYA's LOVE STORY.
You say Harshad is held responsible for the meagre ratings, I suggest you provide solid proof to back up your irrational remarks before you comment-friendly advice. Your comment cracked me up, I would like to thank you for that hilarious joke. Much appreciated.
What's contradicting about your statement...before Rehan's entry, Beintehaa had topped the charts, gained exceptional ratings, and has a huge fan following due to ZAIN & AALIYA =ZAYA. We were presented with light hearted plots. However, that all changed upon Rehan's entry, ZAYA fans have every right to complain because ultimately ZAIN is the protagonist, to sideline the Hero of the show, now a mere spectator, to butcher characters like Ghulam, Shabana, Farhad...who were 'once upon a time' dearly loved by all just to fit in this cameo HURTS. For Zain to be presented as the BAD guy, and Rehan as the GOOD guy is totally unfair.
My biggest concern is that CV's are slowly destroying Zain's character, tampering on Zaya's enticing love story just for this ONE character is horrible and a frightening nightmare come true.
You tell me, imagine if Nandish was offered a role as the main lead in another show, you witness an authentic romance story forming between him and the female lead, then suddenly let's say, a random, irrelevant male character weds the female lead, and Nandish's character is toyed with and sidelined completely, HOW WOULD THAT MAKE YOU FEEL? Answer this honestly, and wholeheartedly.
Now, when it comes to fulminating Zain's character traits...again, watch the previous episodes, that would make you people understand.
Below I'll be listing down crucial events to back up my point, which many of you Rehan fans have not done by the way.
-During the Valentine's day party, Zain had accidentally unclasped Aaliya's blouse. To note: Zain detested Aaliya then. Moving forward, to salvage Aaliya's dignity and her reputation, he had covered her exposed skin from the public eye, and slyly dragged her away to attach the blouse back together. Although Zain hated Aaliya to the core, during the relationship, he still had that ounce of respect for her and would never degrade her!
-When the camera man took snapshots of an exposed Aaliya (blouse open) Zain had confronted and chastised him with obvious threats, and with an angry glare deleted the pictures.
-Before the Valentine's party, a group of goons were misbehaving with Aaliya, ZAIN had come to the rescue once again.
-When Aaliya's 'wardrobe malfunction' was plastered all over the newspapers, and Suraiyya found the perfect opportunity to humiliate Aaliya by allowing her gossip girl friends to degrade her social status, Zain who was well aware of his mistake, admitted to his faults in front of everyone! He talked back to them, was implicitly disrespectful to them upon judging her, even though they are Suraiyya's friends and he knows them. He dragged Aaliya away from them by grabbing onto her hands to get her away from the Mean Girls.
-Next, when Aaliya was accused of theft and proven innocent by the police force, Zain felt BAD & GUILTY to have humiliated her in the Walima ceremony.
-Moving on, when Aaliya had sold her expensive jewellery gifted by the Abdullah's in order to save Farhad's neck, Suraiyya had wanted to expose her in front of Osman so he had no choice but to chuck her out without asking for consent. However, our Hero came to the rescue, somehow got a hold of the jewellery sets and proved his Mother wrong, she was left humiliated and beaten at her own game. Rescued his lady love once again.
-When Suraiyya accused Aaliya of having an affair with Zubair, Zain stood up for her. On his Mother's behalf, Zain apologised to Aaliya himself.
-When Suraiyya chucked Aaliya out of the house Zain immediately shared some words with his Mother in disapproval and was ready to move out till Aaliya is brought back to the house.
-During the Barkat/Bobby track, when Aaliya had suspected Bobby of her evil intentions Zain blindly trusted her without question.
-When Suraiyya accused Aaliya of Osman's horrific accident, Zain did not once blame Aaliya.
-When Aaliya had taken Zubair's side, and was adament that Zubair is innocent, Zain had taken her convictions into account and passed on the bail money.
I'm pretty sure there were many more crucial events but I can't think of the rest from the top of my head right now.
Upon Rehan's entry everything turned topsy turvy.
For some reason the CV's are adament on glorifying Rehan, to fit this one character into the already beautiful equation by toying with Zain's character, as well as the original casts. You tell me, how is that FAIR for us ZAYA fans who have stuck through thick and thin, even during the poorly executed Barkat track? BECAUSE of the halala track, TRP's have decreased to 0.5, can you believe that? Once a show that topped the popular show DABH, was one of the top five shows, did exceedingly better than every single show on Colors TV is now not doing so well, not even a little bit. That's upsetting.
Zain, a character that once was a logical thinker, would never have divorced Aaliya, believed Rehan to be the villain, is now dumbed down for REHAN? Really, why CV's, why? A person that trusted his love blindly was shown losing his trust in her to once again fit Rehan in. How is that in any way shape or form FAIR?
You're saying that harshad is held responsible for the downfall of the show, well what does that say about the articles and TRP charts that say otherwise before Rehan's entry? Even during Rehan's entry, when we hardly got a glimpse of Rehan and his family, the ratings were decent because ZAYA were in one frame, because no one was made to get in-between them.
P.S. do not criticise actors on this post, this is solely about the characters of the show. Do not start an argument. If you want to comment on the TRP's or the character of Zain BACK UP YOUR COMMENT WITH LOGICAL PROOF, otherwise don't make unnecessary comments just to get a point across that does not make any sense at all. CV's, I hope you're reading this, try and take our demands into consideration ans think appropriately in order to save this show. This show did absolutely fine with the original casts, and did exceptionally great with Zain & Aaliya together as a married couple. Why ruin that?
