Why sons are dependent on their fathers

Soo all the serials I watched including Beintehaa. All the main heros are in their dad's business. Why ??? Why they don't do something on their own? Just a little awkward. Cause they study ... Go to college and at the end .. They run their own boring home business.

The concept of long running Indian TV shows was introduced with the set-up of Big Fat Joint Indian family, which still continues to some extent. So it's quite normal to show family business and the next generation continues it.
