In the serial Banno Main Teri Dulhann, the illiterate Vidya (Divyanka Tripathi) is learning A, B, C, D, to impress her husband Saagar (Sharad Malhotra). In reality, however, Divyanka finds it very funny that she is learning the alphabets and that too from child actors!
We spoke with the "student" Vidya (Divyanka Tripathi) about her learning experience on the sets. "I'm learning A, B, C, D. It sounds so funny as even my co-stars are teasing me. They often mockingly scold me by saying 'Oh, you can't even write A', or sometimes they pretend to teach me 'A for Apple'. It is very embarrassing for me, but at the same time it's so very funny. After the shot, all the co-actors gather to pull my legs. The most amazing thing is that my on-screen foster son who is very small also teaches me, and there is this dialogue 'Mummy, aise nahi likhte, aise likhte hain.' Ironically, the child artist himself doesn't know how to read and write as he is just a 5-year old Gujrati tot. I don't know his real name, but we call him Samir only. The other child actor Bharat also helps me learn the alphabets in the serial."
"Further, there are some scenes in which I'm not able to hold a chalk properly, and Bharat teaches me how to hold the chalk. It's so funny that I have to pretend that I can't hold the chalk. A special tutor will also come to teach me," she says, not able to control her laughter.
The current track of the serial is something like this: Saagar is shocked after he comes to know that Vidya is illiterate, and that she does not even know the table manners. She is not westernized; how will she be able to earn her husband's love? So, now she will learn to read and writeβ¦
