Part 2

(I'm going to try to write this chapter all from Vidya's point of view, so all the I's will be Vidya talking.) For recap go to page 3 please!

It had been one of the hottest days of August, and I was babysitting the Sharma twins for what seemed like the thousandth time that summer. To get out of playing yet another hot, sweaty game of cricket, I took Sharman and Dhruv to an indoor roller-skating rink. I thought I had found the perfect way to spend the afternoon-until Sharman fell down. He was sprawled across the floor, waling and crying.

And then it happened. From the other side of the rink I saw him skating towards our little group in strong, smooth glides. The first thing I noticed was his size. He was tall, making the twins and me seem like miniatures in comparison. When he looked at me, his hazel eyes twinkled.

He couched next to Sharman. "What's wrong chief?" he asked. "Did you and the floor have a nasty encounter?"

Sharman looked up at this stranger. "Yeah…" He was half wailing, half interested in what this guy was going to say next.

The guy looked at me, then at the twins. "I'm Tushar Sharma," he said. "And I've fallen down on this floor so many times that you'll find imprints of my butt all over this place."
Dhruv giggled. I giggled. A moment later Sharman's tears stopped and he giggled. "I've only fallen once," he informed Tushar.

Tushar raised his eyebrows. "Once? That's nothing! My kid brother Arav, has fallen do many times that I'm beginning to winder if he knows which way is up!"

A moment later Sharman pushed himself up off the floor. "Let's go, Dhruv!" he said, the tears gone as suddenly as they had come.

I'm in love It was the first thought that came into my mind.Tushar isn't only gorgeous, he's a hero.

"Looks like the little guy is going to live," Tushar commented.
I felt my face turn bright red. This was it. My big moment to flirt with a totally cute guy. "Uh…yeah-th-thanks." I stammered.

I wanted to say something witty, something inspired. Instead I stared at my hands. Anything. Say Anything, I ordered myself. Don't let this opportunity pass you by.

Suddenly my roller skates began to move beneath me. "Ahh…" I started to pitch forward.
In a flash a pair of strong, warm hands encircled my waist. "Gotcha" Tushar's voice was delightfully low and husky and close to my ear. Instantly most of my body was covered in goose bumps.

"Thanks," I murmured, trying to catch my breath. He had touched me---voluntarily! YES!

Now what? Was I supposed to ask him if he would like to skate around the rink with me? Or maybe I could suggest casually that we take a hot chocolate break.

Yeah, right. I was usually too shy to ask a stranger what time it was. There was no way I was going to have the guts to ask a perfectly formed member of the male half of the species to join me at the snack bar.

Tushar looked restless. He opened his mouth, and I knew the end of our conversation was at hand. I had to do something drastic. "I'll see you---," he began.

"So, do you, uh, go to St. Xavier's?" I interrupted before Tushar could make his exit.
He smiled. "I will be as of next week. I'm just gonna start," he informed me. "You?"
"Same," I answered.

I racked my brain for another question. But the inside of my mouth felt like a cotton ball, and my heart was beating a million beats a minute from having worked up the nerve to ask the first question.

In the distance Dhruv waved at me. "Come on Vidya!" he yelled. "Sharman wants to try to skate backwards."

I rolled my eyes. So much for my first attempt at flirting. Duty called. "See you," I said to Tushar.

"Bye, Vidya." He turned and skated towards Arav.

As I headed toward Dhruv and Sharman, I couldn't help grinning. Okay, so basic shyness had prevented me from getting into a free-flowing conversation with Tushar. At least he knew my name now. There would be plenty of time to work on my flirting skills for future use. After all, I had four years of high school ahead of me!

"Four absolutely wasted years," I informed my reflection.

I'm going to end the second part year....I'm really glad everyone is actually enjoying this story. I will continue this ff hopefully on Thursday!!! Please do leave comments

Lovely, liked they way he caught her. But where is Sagaar?? If u don't bring him in now then Vidya will be all Tushaar's 😆 😆 .
