One of the longest running shows of Imagine TV titled Bandini, produced by Balaji Telefilms seems to have reached its nadir.

Apparently, rumours are doing the round that the show is nearing its closure and will end by the month of January, next year. The actors from the show have already started auditioning for other upcoming shows.

An actor from Bandini requesting anonymity says, ''Some people are saying it will end in December and some are saying that Bandini will conclude in January. I have been told that the TRPs of the show have plummeted so the channel has decided to wind up the show in two months time. There is no official announcement as yet. Also with daily soaps one can't confirm anything till the last moment. If a track is liked by the audience, it gets an extension else it ends even before the stipulated time.''

Asiya Kazi, protagonist of the show says, ''Well I have been hearing these rumours for a while now but nothing has been communicated to us officially. Media has been asking me if the show is ending in January but I have no clue.''

Bandini boasts of television stalwarts like Ronit Roy and Rasika Joshi.

i don't know how to react to the news, although we all knew it coming...not a big surprise,
but i have kind of mixed feelings right now....happy and sad, both at the same time.
i am happy to have known one of the finest couples in fiction on any tv. it was a delight to have known them. they still are very close to my heart....
completely agree with rani that the first year of BANDINI will always remain in our memory. it will be hard to forget santu and dharamraj's story any time soon....but like every good thing, it has to end too.

i personally think that this slightly premature ending would come due to the leap, which put off all the hopes for BANDINI....there was so much scope in tracks prior to this leap. we as an audience, kept requesting and protesting against it. we pretty much warned them, but nobody listened...now is the result time.....the low trps are indicative of the viewers displeasure.....the new creative team is trying, and is doing a better job, but probably it is too late now.

I think it is a very wise decision.....to end it now before TRPs fall any further. I guess the audience showed their displeasure with the leap and finally got BT and Imagine's attention, we had said all along that we did not want another leap but as usual no one paid attention and took the audience for granted and not that we finally have their attention, it probably too late.....in my opinion, the leap did this show in and also the BDs, cheat shots, bad management, poor writing and low production values.

But the first year was smashing, and like so many people said probably the best thing on TV at the time and one of the best of all times, even I could watch the first year again and again, SanRaj used to light up our screen then.....but as always BT went ahead and ruined another of their shows, they will never learn.
