Subject:- 'Tomorrow's fantastic precap, and the vileness of Birwa'.

Tomorrow's (Thursday, 1st April 2010) ep.'s precap was fantastic!

Baa boxed Santu into a corner, with the demand for a sworn statement of intent. So Santu couldn't go off the bat with her usual "I'm only interested in the money, and anything good I do is all about that."

The only option she had was the verse from the Gita, a verse which completely avoids mention of good deeds.

Kudos, Baa. You got Santu to go from claiming wicked and selfish intent to saying a verse about just doing the deeds with no thought for the end-result.

Maybe if Baa were to keep at it, we'd get more out of Santu. The verse Santu used to wriggle out of telling Baa why she's doing what's she's doing... It's the most neutral among the famous Gita verses. The other famous ones are way more proactive.

Maybe Santu should think about the fact that Lord Krishna told Arjun to fight his dear ones, even though several of them were just following orders.

By that standard, Santu needs to take aim and fire at Birwa. Metaphorically, of course. After all, Birwa is *not* following orders. She's just being a selfish little...

I'd forgive her everything else, but not how she told Santu to leave the house or how she backed Khemi against Santu over the keys and said she'd give Santu the money like she was talking to someone inferior.

Gods, I despise Birwa. I'd forgive anyone and everyone in the Mahiyavanshi family (I don't consider Sandeep part of it), but not Birwa.

Even Motiben worships Subhadra for her sacrifice, enough that she'd ruin her life for the sake of a woman who is no more.

And in contrast, there's Birwa who spits in the face of all Santu has endured for her. She makes terrible situations even worse for Santu and then gets on with living her life.

Even *Maulik*, who was willing to let his elder brother get killed, wouldn't let his sister get slapped over a vile offence. Birwa could at least keep her mouth shut when the family abuse Santu and call her a murderous opportunist, but she joins in instead.

There's nothing that could happen to Birwa that I would mind. The girl has just left me minus any humanity when it comes to her. She is...such an ingrate. A truly despicable one.

you are right birwa is vileness personified. The way she swallowed hard out of fright when maulik was getting a beating as if imagining her own fate were her turn to ever come, made me sure birwa wont confess even over sarang fiasco she wont ever spill the beans on her own there's too much at stake for her I guess santu may tell DM in some emotional outburst like happened with moti raaz..

Krishna also told arjun, by you not fighting, especially when you know a crime has been committed, is a bigger sin, than those committing the crime.
santu cannot sit quietly, hence she has taken the stance of arjun & went to war against her loved one.
she only saw her duty, not those standing infront of her.
no duty is greater than doin your dharam.
dispassionate discharge of duty without concern for personal triumph

santu's reply to ba:-

Karmanyewadhikaraste ma faleshu kadachan

ma karm phal heturbhur ma te sangostvakarmani.

Meaning:- [not let reward be the reason for the motivation of their activities. We must perform all of our actions without being motivated by the fruit.

It may be postulated that since the results of all actions are attained simply by worshipping the Supreme Lord, what is the use of any other actions other than devotion to Him?

To counter this conclusion the Supreme Lord states that all living entities have the right to perform actions but none have the right to claim the results.

An aspirant of the highest knowledge must know that to hanker or yearn for reward for one's actions is the cause of bondage in the material existence.

But it may be said that all actions produce a result, just as eating satisfies the urge of hunger.

Anticipating this question the Supreme Lord states that one should not let the anticipated results of actions be the cause of motivation.

Be not one who is controlled by fruitive desires.

As heaven is attained only when desired being connected to the living entity who performed the rites in the scriptures to attain such an end it can be seen that what is not desired does not take place.

Then on the other hand although fruitive actions are binding be not attached and not devoted from fear of this bondage to inaction. This is the idea of this verse.

Completely agree with you, I also can't see how anyone that cried as much as Birwa did would change that much! Seems a bit unrealistic or maybe they should have shown it... like her throwing herself into work to forget the past but they only hint she didn't have a mother's love, but that kind of isn't true cos she had her 'mum' go to jail for her, how much love does she need!!!
Like you said... completely selfish, I nearly fell off my seat in shock when she told Santo to leave the house, I expected her to chase after her and apologise and give her some money and was just dumb-founded when that never happened either.
I definitely think we're to expect worse from Birwa now that she has reasons to hate poor mongi!
