I don't think that there was a need for a leap either, even if Santu goes to jail. DM could have tried to find the real killer and also they could have tested Arjan's blood once more to determine if he was really DM's son. I think that the show was on its last legs because of the Ana track and the boring Arjan track and the channel wanted to stop the show. Ekta is trying to save it from being ditched, with this 10 year leap! I hope it really helps. But I want Santu to be understood by everyone in the end, and Moti and Maulik to beg for forgiveness from Santu for all the atrocities that they committed against her. All the kids need to do the same for ever doubting her. DM has to make-up with her big time, but knowing Santu, she won't expect anything from them. If they turn her away, she will have other options.
Nanaji might not be alive any more, and Monghi might be married too.
