For the past couple of days, Bandini belongs to Ronit Bose Roy. Right from day 1, he fits the role of Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi to the hilt (mannerisms, dialogue delivery, body language) and he has literally breathed life into the character.
He began playing DM as a man with a cold heart and cold face, a man who had forgotten to live because of the abrupt loss of his beloved wife. A wife whose loss he was not prepared for and lived in denial for several years. Then he vacillated between extreme bouts of anger, stubbornness and cruelty, while all the time being drawn into Santu's web of sweetness and loving nature. Each and everyone of these emotions RR has brought to life so effortlessly.
But the scene that touched me the most was the one in the hospital when he was sitting alongside Santu's bed, crying with both relief and pathos (at her decision). When Santu tells him she wants "something", he melts and caresses her hair with so much love and deep affection and that was when RR brought forth the true person that DM once was when he was completely secure in Subhadra's love for him.
My heartiest congratulations to Ronit Bose Roy for giving us DM. I wish this could reach him somehow!
