I agree with you totally! Hiten and Khemi are utterly selfish, not considering other people's feelings but yet Khemi is blaming Santu. I am on Santu's side on this one! She had a right to be angry and express her opinions, she is not thinking only about herself, but the Mahiyavanshi family as well as nanaji.Santu has sacrificed a lot and has been mistreated too, but she has such loyalty for hubby and his family too.
What about poor Shambu losing his bride at the last minute. It's fine with me if Hiten-Khemi get together, but they should have told everyone before Shambu was deeply involved. Now it's mayhem for everyone!
I dont think it is Khemi and Hiten's selfishness that got them where they are, but their selflessness which is responsible for their plight. If they were selfish they would have have confessed their love for each other long ago and eloped. Khemi was aware of who she was and what was her position, the reason why she did not open her mouth but decided to go with a marriage she did not want for the sake of her nanaji. Hiten too kept quiet till now because for him Khemi's happiness was paramount. Since she did not open her mouth, he did not want to force himself on her. Inspite of all her good intentions, Khemi could not stop feeling how she did for Hiten. She tried to forget him but is unable to do so for she trully loves him and true love cannot be forgotten. She has this tussle with her conscience and seeks peace at the alter of her God, crying out loud to him about her weakness. Hiten overhears it and realises that the reason he gave up Khemi (for her happiness) is no longer a valid reason because she is far from being happy. Their love confession and their hug was not pre-meditated act but a spur -of-the-moment act.
Knowing how they feel for each other, going ahead with this marriage would not be fair for Shambu. It is better for the guy to know before he marries her that she does not love him than to be forced in a loveless marriage. Just because his marriage gets stopped in the last moment does not mean that he will never get married again. After all being a man he will always find another girl who can really love him.
Santu has no business going around preaching to her sister without hearing her first and trying to understand her feelings. Santu is always harping of Maalik's mariyadha. Is the Maalik's mariyadha (respect) greater than the happiness of three people (hiten, Khemi and Shambu?).
As a maalikin of her village she has to take into consideration all three lives into question and not just her Maalik's. Love cannot be changed like changing clothes. As to the twisted relationship between Hiten and Khemi, I hope they sort that out or go ahead and show a radical solution by getting Hiten and Khemi together inspite of it. If a regressive theme such as a teenager-middle aged widower relationship can be tolerated, a more progressive relationship between two like minded people can surely be tolerated.
