Dear Friends,
Last week has been quite eventful. Holi was celebrated in full swing. The pace of the story is still being maintained and I am loving it. No dragging, more or less logical and over all the cast is good. The best part what I am liking that nothing is shelved away for afterwards, DM got to know Jagmohan was his attacker and he removed Jagmohan very effectively. Though I will be missing my Jaggu Dada, I liked the fact Santo did not hide from DM that Jaggu was behind his attack nor like other BT bahus she tried to revenge the attacker herself. The best scene of that episode is when DM's mil watches Santo pleading with DM not to go out as his life will be at stake.....For a mother to see another girl taking her daughter's place must be very heart wrenching.
Guruji is back in the household. I do not like him to tag around all the time but then he is trying to get DM and Santo together. Not bad, I will put up with him but I want natural progession of DM and Santo's relationship, without any Guru effect. While DM refused to sit in the Puja with Santo and instead made is former (as his wife is late) in laws sit in the Puja in his place, I have a question to ask....as per my knowledge it was a must to do the Puja in couple for married people....since DM refused it would have been appropriate that he asks Hiten to take his place, his elder son and single because his inlaws according to hindu law belong to another family, their 'gotra' is different, even if they happen to stay in the same house...
Now the things I did not like....I did not like Santo appreciating DM move to make his in laws sit for the puja...she is a young girl, hardly 18, it is natural of girls of that age to feel bad, we would have loved to see her eyes water and downcast....it is natural, don't make her a saint. She tells DM that the servant should get the 'bakshish' for the sheera as the kitchen is his area....now DM is much older than her, has seen the world, had been married earlier, here too I would have liked DM to say those words, Santo would agree but feel sad about it...it is but natural, being a girl I know when you are newly married you always want your hushand's attention, his appreciation.... I am sure Santo is not above those....
The script once again failed to support DM's character....he failed to see how he and his family is Santo's own people now when Pinakin pointed out.....It is he who married Santo and not the other way round, he could have admitted to Pinakin, yes it should have been that way but as of now it is not so....
Last but not the least, I am looking forward how DM takes actions against his son Hiten for killing Moudi. If he renders justice, he will set an example but then he will become a villain in the eyes of his children once again, they will feel their father is trying to please his new wife. Jate Jate, I must say I loved the scene when Santo comes to ask DM if she should wear these clothes for holi celebrations. She does not want to cross him anymore by wearing Subhadra's clothes....good thinking Santo....your thought friends, love Tin

^ wonderful analysis. its great you pointed out that the parents of his dead wife are certainly not his family. they are not mahiyavanshis. it would have been more appropriate for hiten to have done the puja, and in the real world, any pandit or guru would have pointed that out.
also, santo would be far more lovable and admirable as santo - the patient, understanding loving girl than any 'santo the saint' they try to make her.

in a way you are right.. but in some of the villages, it is so instilled in people the difference between neechi and oonchi jaati, that people do think like that.. as Santo mentioned that she is from neechi jaati so it would not have good for her to sit in pooja.. which is ridiculous.. god is the same for everyone..!! but there is this whole thing that still happens in many places..
but yes, it would be nicer to see her being the more understanding wife.. but i am glad that she did not accept the bakhshish.. he can praise her but not give her bakhshish naa.. she is his wife afterall..

When you get married your gotra changes and it becomes the same as your husband's. Regarding the bakshish, no I did not want Santo to accept the bakshish, I wanted DM to say Santo's line...he is elder to her, had been married before, he knows the way of life more than her... Santo accepts what he says but a little sad, after all she is 18, she is understanding but then look it her age, she feels a trifle sad, after all she is yet to get recognition from the household. All I want is to show her as a normal 18 year old girl....
