It can be proved, in his 1st scene, we didn't actually knew if he was the new DC or not, what made viewers to accept the character was he gave her the dupatta to cover herself, he gave his hand for help, he tried to kind of convince her when she was looking afraid of horse ride. Viewers liked his good looks in that scene but that too because it helped him to be an appropriate match for helping a beautiful personality Anandi. So, all this helped viewers to have a good opinion about Shiv.
I dont think so viewers would have accepted him, as him as a character as he is, if his respect for Anandi as a girl was amiss in his intro episode even if later he proved to be the most dynamic collector or whatsoever!!!

Moreover, since last 5 years we are watching Anandi. We are watching how that chirpy little girl has suffered. How DS has clipped her wings, How Jagya has thrown her like a trash. Still how she tried to gather herself without keeping any bitterness.

We could connect to her so well becoz we are watching her since she was a little girl of eight. So that time we desperately wanted her to be happy in life , to shine in her career. Before Shiv entered she already earned the fame. Shiv never suffered in his life atleast till date what was shown, He was shown as a support system of her emotional trauma. So automatically becoz he could understands Anandi and he too has the same qualities like Anandi we all loved him.

So there is no biasedness. We criticize Anandi as well as Shiv but since we know how she suffered at past we can understand why she does that as we have seen her way is little different. We love Shiv too so we have lot of expectation from him. But considering her past its difficult to accept if she gets hurt.
