I am trying to figure out the symbolism behind the 10-12 alarm clocks. Their unison ring being unable to wake up Anandi?
Alarm means alert, take immediate action for there is an emargency that could destroy your life. Anandi is in for serious trouble if she does not wake up and face Shiv and her emotions for him (whether they are love or otherwise).
The CVs are symbolically portraying Anandi's indifference or neglect to abide to the call of destiny that is going to raise a very difficult situation in her life if not attended to immediately. Shiv is not responsible for this situation because he is doing his best to make her aware of it and confront it. He wants to work with her as a team. She is the one who is running away. She prefers to live in her past and pines for it while neglecting to build her future!
The fact that Shiv is the one who got rid of the alarms. Shows that Shiv will have to deal with the situation alone - Anandi is going to remain fearful and passisve. In fact she may not even open up to him and mentally regress to being in the haveli with DS and Sumi.
Whether the situation pertains to their married life I cannot tell - but it definitely reflects that Shiv will need to take the leadership and managerial role in ensuing events. He will be the one who has wits around him and understands the situation for what it is. Anandi's behavior will be weird and continue to confuse the audience.
Is it the awakening of the suppressed negative emotions and personality traits in Anandi?
OR
Is it the awakening of FINAL freedom from all her pent up fears and insecurities? Is it her final emotional battle from years of suppression, torment, and emotional ordeal?
