I agree with what you say except for the part in bold. When a J had left Jetsar and was living in Mumbai with his choice of girl , it was his choice totally . Jetsar and A was too downmarket for him , an MBBS Dr. from Mumbai.DS used to miss him , cry for him but did not forgive him for what he did.
But going to jail cannot be compared to this. When a family member is in jail , one cant imagine what the family goes thru . They are not even able to sleep /eat properly . Here Dadisa was still doing an admirable job of holding her pain inside and trying to look happy for Anandi's sake. this is what led to depression.
I will have to respectfully disagree, may be your view on the J-G relationship is quite different from mine which I don't want to get into, since it has been debated to eternity. Its the way you look at a situation. The way I look at it, when J was in Mumbai leaving his family behind, at that point he was wrong in the eyes of his family and there was little or no hope of him coming back. That's enough reason to go into depression
if any, for a person who is so attached to someone.
The comparison arises in the situation itself. J is a reformed person now and is on the right track in the eyes of his family. there cannot be anything more relieving for the family members than this. He is serving his time in jail for his own mistake which he was man enough to accept. Its not easy to do what J did. This act itself was appreciated by DS and the family. So this time away from his family is for a much greater cause than the previous. Hence I don't see him serving his sentence as anything bad but required for him to come clean. Its not like he is in for life imprisonment or on a death sentence. He will be back soon. The most important point here is that at the end of the day, the family knows that their son will be back to them as a reformed person. That in my opinion should not depress someone but should fill them with hope for a worthwhile future.
