What the heck is Dadisa's problem?

To me it appears a lack of principles, a lack of moral grounding, a lack of religious lampost. There is no point in going through all those jaap malas, visiting temples, doing fasts, pujas, and scriptural reading if one cannot live the life and walk the path with honesty.

She has been blessed with plenty - wealth, obedient sons, beedinis who have withstood her gruelling training, and villagefolk who respect her.

And what has she acquired?

DS with growing years has neither developed the power of self analysis, integrity or wisdom. She wields her authority as any despotic autocrat would - harming the most vulnerable! To me she is an object of pity - but that does not help those who have to live under her tyranny - Anandi in particular. She does not value individual opinion, personal choice and autonomy. To her - she sets the parameters and operating guidelines for all in the family.

The unfortunate part is DS does not even realize that she is wrong. She does not understand that which Anandi is trying to tell her or Bhairon's appeal.

Indian culture believes in respecting the elderly - but DS today clearly indicated that individuals like her have to be sidestepped and ignored if one wants to sincerely follow the virtuous path. This is not about AnSh's romantic saga - this is about self-respect and honoring the godliness within!

Anonee, very nice thought provoking post!! Education is the key. We have all this evils in the society coz of lack of education. If we woman raise out kids better with moral values we'll have a better India. That's what this show is showing respecting & blindly following are 2 different things. Disagreement, where it is required is essential for the betterment of one & all. We don't have to hurt our elders ego but we can surely put our thoughts across. This is what Shiv is doing with his CM. Politely explaining...but people here are mad he is not raising hell. Now I wait for a subtle blazing episode b/w Shiv vs DS & J. Don't worry all this DS requesting A was to intensify the DRAMA. There has to be drama in drama 😉

Well, I do not know how many of u here have visited a indian Village ...I have for a project & I must confess... I was absolutely shocked at what I saw & heard there. From Baal vivaah to dowry all evils are very much prevalent ...even sati.😭

The matriarch in most cases is just like DS...me & myself .types...mere ghar ka chora yeh kar he nahi sakta😡 and the gun culture is also common there. I would say more than USA. Dushmani & gunda gardi ufff. The picture is very grim. So I think though they had reformed DS but to keep her real they are showing her unwavering love for her POTA. Shiv will give her the required jhatka to bring her to reality. Then DS will be redeemed completely.

This was a request of a selfish grand mom to go back to selfish GS J🤢...I just don't know how DS has a sane son like Bhairav. Well, what she did today was being in her character...pota love mai she slipped. 😆

My learning from philosophy cl ...sometimes, even the best of us make rash decisions - bad decisions. Decisions we pretty much know we're gonna regret the moment, the minute - especially the morning after. I mean, maybe not "regret" regret because at least, you know, we put ourselves out there but still, something inside us decides to do a crazy thing ...abs illogical but completely dilogical 😆( hai yeh dil🤔). A thing we know'll probably turn around and bite us in the posterior yet we do it anyways. What I'm saying is; we have to reap what we sow. DS & Singhs have to deal with J for few more days What comes around goes around. It's karma and, any way you slice it, karma sucks. It is the bad karma of DS & BS/ Sumi that we have a crazy/messed up selfish J.

It will be a paraller story from now Gauri will be accepted back in the haveli & our Collector will unite J & G & he'll live happily with A. It will be interesting to watch fall & rise of love!!

U know, I have written and said enough about DS today .. So didn't add anything.. All I can say is I am disgusted beyond words for her action today and nothing can reverse the action. Ur 1st few lines is what my 1st reaction was temples, god , punya she ha gone beyond it...

Hun, I'm not MAD but I feel sorry for such persons like DS. Ufff the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. Educated Jagia is taking full advantage of that unconditional love. This uneducated simple, good, God-fearing, endearing Budia has fallen for his trap...no reason no logic just plain LOVE😭

That's why we need education to do away with all the evils. A educated DS would have dhooloed educated Jagis today but alas.

What they are showing is FACT not FICTION 😛

Had she just requested anandi and left it for her to decide, it would be termed as her desire. But she did not stop at that .. Oh actually she did not even request.. She imposed her decision on A, forgetting promise given to Anandi's dying mother, shiv and shekhars options , her own words and most importantly Anandi's opinion, Anandi's happiness , Anandi's pain and her self-respect.

One surely does not need to be educated to understand the difference btw Paap & punya. But what can one do with all the ancient ideologies and customs that are so ingrained in some older woman. My POTA my khoon can never be wrong but when she got the shock her life she was all for Anandi... but the minute she saw him in tears...her unconditional love came forward🤢. I think these older women were brainwashed so much and certain ideas were drilled that it is hard for them to move forward. India is in a transition phase but we are not yet there. That's why DS is going back & forth. Most of the villagers are still stuck in Ram Rajya where Sita had to give a Agni Pariksha. This is Agni Pariksha for poor Ajee but she has her Ram's support (rock of GIBRALTAR ) so nothing to worry 😳. Sita's self respect was intact after the agni pariksha and Ajee's will remain too😳. She'll emerge stronger from this!!

Ahhh That brings me back to that which does not kills us makes us stronger!!!

Please forgive me for entering into your discussion.

For me what 5cents says by the word "education" translates into exposure. One who is exposed to other points of view, interpretations, thoughts, expressions, mannerisms, behaviors and ways of doing things.

In general, one who has a limited world view is going to look, relate, interpret and work within the confines of those limitations. And, one who has bigger exposure will tend to show that in their lifestyle and thinking style.

DS world view is limited - true.

And it is only today that TV and internet (read globalization) is making in roads into the masses in India and around the world.

On the other hand what I understand melliflous to be saying is that- wisdom does not necessarily require exposure! Wisdom to understand people and their attitudes behavior, and discernment of right and wrong - does not require exposure. Wisdom can be acquire through introspection, observation, reflection and deeper understanding of scriptures. A mind can be purified and uplifted by lofty and pure thoughts that imbue humbleness, fairness and selfless love to all! This does not mean one has to be perfect and holier than thou - but at least caring and fair towards all!
