I guess you are right ... if she was saying -- "THIS is anandi's husband" ... in the sense of "this is the reason they are getting divorced ... this drunkard jailbird is anandi's husband"

That was the weird (and disappointing to my drama-craving mind) part, though... she didn't emphasise the 'this'. So her thoughts were kind of unclear... to me, at least.

yeah... she didnt emphasize "this"... I guess the shock of the situation just made her forget about the impending divorce... or you are right ... she didnt want shiv to think it was another random grandson of hers ... she wanted him to know that this particular grandson is the one and same husband of anandi that they are always talking about.

Yeah... to avoid an awkward conversation like:
DS: This is my grandson.
Shiv: Oh! Erm... Anandi's brother-in-law...?
DS: No... her husband.
*major averting of eyes from all parties*

Tee hee 😆
Jailbird Jagat could also have been a catchy name for a rock artist in the 80s... xD

Lol, now I'm imagining Nandu, Jagya and Shiv on a stage wearing skin-tight trousers and carrying guitars, shouting to a crowd, "We're Dadisa's Laadesars, y'all!"
By the way, there are actual bands that exist that play "wizard rock" (Harry Potter-themed songs), and they have names like 'Remus and the Lupins', 'Draco and the Malfoys' etc. At this rate, we're going to inspire people to create bands to play "Balika rock"... 😆
