Ok... seems there's a what if thing going on in this thread as few are looking at Gauri's past actions to grade her current ones.
So she has time to chat up for hours with her girlfriend on the phone about a lousy lehnga but not converse with hubbie to atleast give moral support. Or text him for that matter?! Hmmm, selfish much? Celebrating her win much? She slept like a baby while her husband desperately held her hand at night for some comfort. All the times in the past, when she has been upset, she took action without thinking, so why now? Honestly, its NOT about the job. Its not. If it had been, they would have shown her working instead of being a frivoluous twit. Instead, she couldn't hang up her cell. She can make little cutout for hours of wedding dresses and dolls but not go with hubbie? Ok, lets say it was for work, would it have killed her to be there for him. A sweet message here, and a quick encouraging chat here.
The tiffin was sweet... until I saw her smirky smile. Then I realized... "oh ho, it was a chaal." I love to hate this character. Wonderful job by Anjum. Even the screaming helps me hate the character more. Wonderful job by the actress I must say.
Jagya should be independent, strong, and manly. He is not. He is a man child. Hence, he needed Gauri mata. He is drinking because he cannot accept what he has done, what he has lost, and who he is now. He is a weak person. Hence, he needed Gauri, his ENABLER & partner in crime! She may disagree with his drinking but in essence, she is pushing him to it. She wants to be able to control him like a child that he is. He is inferior. So is she but the problem is, she is a qualified doctor who is a loser. She has nothing but her ego and education. She lacks what is important of all, insaniyat. If she saves a life, its for accolades... if she is a good wife for the day, its because she wants something... and if she is sweet, its because she has done something wrong. She is fake head to toe. She stands for nothing. She is worse than Jagya because Jagya is a donkey's behind upfront whereas, Gauri is someone who would stab you in the back.
Anandi's horror taught her to be a better person... a better human...
Gauri learned to be a witch.
