Sorry for writing really lengthy posts! Still, thanks a lot for responses.😊
I only wanted to elaborate how Anandi is not being exactly an ideal, typical Indian woman - the conventional Sati Savitri and neither is she boring, dumb or dull. She (and almost 99% women in the world, especially Asia & Africa) are products of systematic subjugation and gender stereotyping. Culture, religion, custom and all that blah are merely weapons to make girls dance to the patriarchal society's tunes!😡
I don't say that Anandi should move out of the house or forget all about J. I am only apprehensive about BV turning into a triangle/quadrilateral type masala show (like some other shows on the same channel!).🤢
I don't say Anandi should quickly become a lawyer/IAS officer/activist/doctor (whatever!) and I know how much stigma is attached with the married woman leaving her in-laws house. Sadly, our society finds fault only with the girl and believes there must be some fault with the girl herself or that the girl is an unlucky wretch! No one considers her plight! 😭
But the cvs must focus on Anandi only, for most of the time. Yesterday's episode was basically about Anandi. I hope we get to see more episodes like that. Instead of episodes which are all about the Singh family or J-G while Anandi is shown for 4 minutes sitting in a corner of her room!
In the past also, there were serials about infidelity, such as Kora Kaagaz or Saans. But these shows focused only on the protagonist of the show. They showed the characters' suffering and dilemma, but it was never that the episodes were mostly about the husband's affair or the ''other woman'' whereas the lead was shown only huddled in a corner of her room for 4 minutes!
I'd say, more than the members of the Singh family or anyone else talking about Anandi, I would prefer to see Anandi thinking about her life - her dreams or her misfortunes, as in yesterday's episode.
I also hope that Singh family handles her properly and in a more sane way, rather than offering to take her outside for a change or hugging her all the time!
As much as I would love to see J or G realising their folly, feeling guilty about their actions, I hope we get to see A more than these two! Other characters, barring A, have had whole episodes, for weeks, dedicated mostly to them! I want to see A - her life (be it suffering or moving on), rather than the whole focus being shifted on J or G's realisations or insecurities! Their problems should take a backseat, we want more of Anandi just like yesterday's episode!!
I also hope, Anandi never reunites with Jagya. Otherwise, it will be proven that child marriages are okay after all and girls need not be educated since only uneducated and subjugated girls make the ideal wife or DIL! It will be like, ''haan thodi bahut problem aayi thi...phir badon ke tajurbekaar tareekon se sab theek ho gaya!''🤢
I didn't even like Gehna patching up with Basant and finally accepting him. Their settlement only proved that be-mel vivah is okay after all and after having a kid, the woman simply forgets that her kid was the outcome of marital rape and not consensual sex!
So far, no child marriage or bemel vivah has been shown to totally fail in BV, at least one child marriage should fail and fall apart completely to show child marriage as an evil! Lal Singh living happily with his wife despite being educated hints that J-G-A issue is more about J's faulty upbringing and unchecked pampering, rather than a bad effect of child marriage!
I wish they never re-unite J and A. But please don't rush and bring a new guy for her yet. I hope A slowly tries to pick up broken pieces and rebuilds her life, and becomes a beacon of hope or change agent for other women like her. After that, impressed by her inspirational story and guts, some new guy can be shown getting besotted with her!
Just give A her full due as the heart and soul of BV!
