04th December Written Update: Gehna and Maasa talks about selling and buying daughters
All the women gather at the dining table to eat dinner. It looks like the men has eaten and left. Jagya is seen leaving the table. Gehna comes and sits. She takes the eaten thaali from the table(I assume its the one from which thauji has eaten)..she keeps it on the ground and make a new plate for herself. seeing this Anandi also looks at the plate infront of her (the one which has been used by jagya). Maasa tells Sumitra that nowadays jagya has become very good. He even cleans his plate so well. Anandi remembers the time when she complained about having to eat from another one's plate.
Maasa starts talking about how a person has to live with whats given to you. How one has to find happiness with the things you have and bring a bit of rang to the married life. Her words seems to be directed towards Gehna. Gehna replies back to her saying that she is happy to hear Maasa talking about her "be-mel biyah".. if only others(those with a lot of money and goes to buy people's daughters) too understand the meaning of it. Maasa replies back that when the fathers stop selling their daughters then the buying also will get stopped automatically. People will try to buy those which comes to the market for selling. Whether its food items, animals or daughters. Gehna recalls how her father took the money and told her to accept the rishta. An emotional Gehna leaves the table. Maasa too leaves the table muttering that she too has to put up with her though she doesnt like it. Anandi asks Sumitra why Gehna went without eating. Sumitra tells her not to worry about Gehna and that she will send her food to the room. Anandi then remembers something and ask Sumitra what the meaning of "be-mel biyah" is.

To explain its meaning Sumitra tells Anandi that like how unsuitable it is to wear different coloured bangels in each hand, when two people gets married whose personalities and interests doesnt match , then it is called "be-mel biyah". Anandi then says that in that case her and jagyish's marriage is also one of them. Sumitra asks how. Anandi starts telling how different she and jagya are.. Though she never tells a lie Jagya does, she likes halwa while jagya likes kachauri, she likes studying while jagya doesnt... Anandi tells Sumitra that had she been told all this before she wouldnt have married Jagya. Sumitra tells both Sugna and Anandi to start eating.
Anandi's parents are shown. The father comes home to find the mother weaving a sweater for her daughter. Anandi's bapu tells that since their daughter has gone to such a rich house she wont need such sweaters. Her sasuraal people will buy better ones and give her. Anandi's mother that tells that a mother's place can never be taken by anyone else. He tells his wife that if we take this then Maasa will have a lot to say. Its better to go empty handed instead of taking a cheap thing like this. Finally Anandi's mother tells that though she will not give it she will make it so that she can look at it and remember her daughter.

Sumitra comes to Gehna's room to find her sweeping dust off some stuff in the cupboard. Sumitra tells her that she doesnt have to dust off since there are several servants to do the job. Gehna says that she has come from a poor family where she is accustomed to doing all the work. If she doesnt do any work then her body will become stiff. Sumitra says that if you dont eat also body will become weak. Its not good to throw away food and come without eating. Sumitra advices Gehna to not get upset over Maasa's words. Otherwise life will become difficult for her in this house. Gehna asks Sumitra why she has been given such a fate by god. what is wrong with her that she has to put up with all this. Sumitra says that nothing is wrong with Gehna. It all depends on how people percieve things. Some people worship the chaand while others find dark marks on it. Gehna says that you are saying all this to make me happy. Sumitra says she will never lie to her. Gehna asks then why did her father sold her out. Why she had to sacrifice so much for the sake of her father. Sumitra says that this is all due to helplessness. Gehna's parents were helpless and due to this they had to give her up. Sumitra goes on saying that different people are given different lives to live. Some have lives where there is no marriage or family, some have everything but no happiness, some feel suffocated in the closed walls of their home. You have to live with what life that has been given to you whether fighting with all the odds or not. Gehna agrees with her and says that she will try not to question her fate. The episode ended in Gehna's face.
