I genuinely didn't like it. But mainly coz Meera totally disregarded her daughter's choice. Which woman tells her daughter "do whatever that man tells you" What if Ram had a booger fetish? Phir? I agree, as a mother she understood that Ram was a nice guy, but it only drive the unhealthy narrative that no matter what age, you need to rely on your parents to help you find the right person/right choice.
It also hindered Ram-Priya's gradual growth of falling for and understanding each other's choice. Had Merra not told Priya to listen to Ram, Priya would have told Ram that she isn't a fan of the saree, which could have resulted into a beautiful sequence of Ram wondering what to gift her and actually buying something small, but super sweet (like the Karwachouth bangles)
I am upset with Ram for pushing her/hurting her coz he is a self proclaimed feminist. Hurting women/any one (atleast physical) shouldn't come to him naturally if he is the "good guy" We have seen Shivaay be rude, but it was fine becuzse he was introduced that way, he doesn't hold back his punches, neither does he pretend to be the good guy. It was Anika's influence (another very stupid ITV trope of woman helping man be nice, as if aur koi kaam dhanda nahi hai) that toned him down.
In hindsight, m just sad that in one scene, they ruined Ram and PriRa in a long shot. I liked Ram simply because he didn't rely on Priya to make him a nice man, he LEARNED from her, but well, forget it, they are ruined. M just gonna go with my fever dream about PriRa.
P. S. Nothing against you🙈 just me being pissed for the third day about the mess
