PriRa OS : Missed Memories
“Priya sambhal ke” Ram said in an exasperated tone as he followed her inside the bedroom but before he could reach her, she slumped on his side of the bed. His OCD mind was immediately alerted watching her sitting on the bed in those wet clothes.
“Priya utho, kapde change krlo nahi to sardi lag jayegi” He caught her arm to make her stand up. “Mujhe sardi nahi lagegi. Main aapki tarah nahi hun. Aap to goliyan thoosne ke baad bhi har do din baad bimaar ho jate hain” she replied to which he sighed in defeat. Drunk or not, she would throw a random taunt his way anytime.
He moved towards the closet to pick out her change of clothes when he heard her scream loudly. He hurriedly turned around thinking if she had hurt herself but found her looking at him angrily.
“Kya hua” He asked. “How dare you Mr. Kapoor” She said pointing a finger at him . Ram could clearly see the change of expression and his body went limp as fear crept up. “Has the intoxication worn off” He thought to himself as he looked at her tense form.
“Mr Kapoor aapko akal nahi hai” She charged towards him. “Sharam nahi aati aapko, sara carpet geela kar diya. You know kitna mehenga carpet hai! Imported hai! Paise ki kadar khud nahi hai. Badme mujh par ilzaam mat lagana ki maine khrab kiya last time ki tarah.
He heaved a sigh of relief and she continued her blabbering “Itne paise waste krte hain aap, aapko businessman kisne bnaya” and then she started laughing “Asli businessman to Tarun hai. Saara kaam to wo bichara krta hai. Pyjama ka naada bandhane se leke gyeser band karne tak. Ruko main usko bulake laati hun. Wo bulb bhi badal dega.”
“Ye terrace pe he theek thi. Room mein aate he dubara bulb badalne lagi” Ram mumbled to himself. “Koi zarurat nahi, bulb subah badal lenge hum” he rushed to lock the door. He could not take chances or else he would find her roaming in the mansion in the middle of the night.
“Pta chale agli baar Tarun ko dil ki baat bta rahi ho” He shrugged his shoulders and went towards the closet to get her clothes while she kept looking towards the roof and was now counting something on her fingers.
“Ye lo, jao change krlo” He grabbed her hand and started dragging her towards the washroom. “Mr Kapoor, ye stars yellow colour ke kaise ho gye. Aur ye itne round round kyun hain”
He looked at her and then towards the roof of the bedroom. “Now the lights have become stars” He did a facepalm. He ignored her rumblings and pushed her inside the bathroom and gave her the clothes. “Change krlo, main bahar wait krta hun” He explained
She looked at him with suspicion and then said “Kya irada hai” and winked making him all flustered and red.
“Umm.. koi irada nahi.. Tum jao change krlo please” he begged her
“Aap help krenge meri?” Priya asked him and he looked at her cluelessly. “Kaisi help” the words left his mouth and she replied in a screeching tone “Dekha mujhe pta tha aapke irade theek nahi hain”. She went inside the bathroom and slammed the door on his face. He was about to walk towards the closet to get his clothes but she came out again.
“Mr kapoor, ye khul nahi rha hai”
He looked at what she was pointing. It was the pins on her dupatta. “Aap khol denge” she asked and he hesitatingly moved towards her to open the pins. His right hand touched her bare shoulder as he tried to work to unstuck the pin. He pulled it out but his hand remained where it. He was so caught up in the moment that his face moved forward and he slowly pecked her bare shoulder and then nestled in the crook of her neck.
Her breath hitched up as she felt his warm breath on her neck. They remained still in the moment before she turned around and held his face in her hands. Her fingers touched his lips. “Mr Kapoor, aapke lips kitne soft hain” she said mesmerized and then she touched his beard and continued “But aapki beard chubti hai” He was taken aback but the next moment she started laughing “Beard ke liye bhi koyi gel aati hai? Aap neeraj se puchna” She cracked herself and he withdrew and took a couple of steps back.
“Tum pagal ho gayi ho. Jao kapde badal lo meeri maa” He was frustrated. She was already creating havoc in his mind with all the closeness and her being intoxicated was not helping much.
She went to the bathroom to change and he changed in the bedroom quickly before she came out. She opened the door and threw the towel and her clothes on the sofa as he looked on. “Waise to sara din mujhe lecture milta hai ki main kapde failata hun. Ab khudko dekho zara kaise kapde fenk rahi hai” He complained in his mind as he picked her clothes that had fallen on the floor. “Nishana bhi acha nahi hai” He smirked at her attempt to throw the clothes on the sofa.
She lied down on her side of the bed and took his phone to switch off the lights while he was still standing in the middle of the room folding the clothes. He slowly walked towards his side of the bed and looked at the sheets which were wet on the corners.
He climbed on the bed and carefully lied down in the middle of the bed. He tried to avoid any contact with her. She was making him loose his mind and now lying down in close proximity was going to be a torture. He was busy in his thoughts when she mumbled in her sleep “Itna hil kyun rahe hain, So jayie na”
He turned towards her and called in a whisper “Priya, ek baat puch sakta hun”
“Hmm...” she replied as she opened her eyes slightly and then closed them again. “Apne dil ki baat btaogi mujhe” He asked hoping she would really tell him this time. “Mr Kapoor, aap fir shuru ho gye” She chided him and scooted close to him and brought her hand to his face patting him trying to put him to sleep. “So jayie” she mumbled and he smiled looking at her innocent face as she struggled to stay awake and then her tired eyes finally gave in as she drifted back to sleep.
His mind went back to all the moments they had shared today. All the painful memories attached to this day were washed off in the rain as he made new memories with her. He slowly raised his head to kiss her forehead and then wrapped his arm around her and slowly drifted to sleep dreaming of a lifetime with her.
